Damien we found all the same issues with Ireland so we got up and fu(ked off out of there. We have relocated to the hills around Braga in the north of Portugal amd we love it. We have a CLA estate temporarily for the seats and I have a CLE 53 amg coming early next year. I will move up to the CLE 63 with the 4lt V8 when it is released in 2025/2026. We bought a 718 boxter gts with the 4l for driving in the hills out here and it is an absolute dream. Soft top and that engine behind your back is just amazing.

Must admit. The first car that came to mind would be a MX-5. The Abarth version in particular. Love the idea of a Porsche 550 Spyder replica with James Dean vibes. The Maserati GranCabrio. Porsche Targa. Alfa Gtv spider also spring to mind. Great video as always!

Only a couple that i would choose. The Porsche 718 , The Morgan +4. Perhaps the Bentley version of the Corniche. I would like to add the following suggestions. Not all are convertibles though. Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG R 172. The Renault Alpine A 110 S either the 1970's or the current model. The Renault Caravelle , The Lotus Elise 111R or 220 or 150, The Chevrolet Corvette most of them. The VW Karman Ghia Type 34 1600 S. The Porsche 356 Speedster . Honda S 2000 , or even Smart Roadster Brabus. Bentley Continental S 3 Chinese Eye Convertible

I really enjoyed this one, so great to see a replica on a list as well! I am the proud owner of a speedster clinic 356 and love it to bits, it gets so much attention and I have no problem telling people it’s not the real thing as it works perfectly well not being so at a fraction of the cost. I left most of the choices and thought the Renault was a great pick, I am an Alfa fan and would’ve gone for my little 916 twinny spider instead of the mx5. You are right about foreign roads, my partner and I spent a week or so in Sardinia driving on fabulous roads and hired would you believe a a little Fiat Panda, which was so much fun was very adept on all of the road surfaces the best of which were probably the best roads I’ve ever driven on. Keep up the good work.

Awesome looking, reasonably powerful (220PS), cheap to buy and maintain, reliable, usable (decent boot and backseats). Hard to find a better option.

Damien, I hate to hear things are pretty rough over there in the UK. I will be visiting for the first time next July and hope to do a road trip to mostly smaller towns and villages that aren’t experiencing substantial unrest. So far I’ve planned to visit Dover, Canterbury, Hethel (Lotus factory visit), and Manchester (Oasis concert). Hope things improve over there in the near future and that you and Jason are able to continue making fun automotive content for a very long time. 👍
