Motion sickness cues are an absolute god send! It pretty much eliminated my motion sickness in cars and trains. Absolutely love this feature!!

@@prashantyelonde9507 Motion sickness affects everyone differently, so the intensity can vary from person to person. Personally, I don’t focus on it directly all the time. I mostly keep it in my peripheral vision, and when there’s a lot of movement or the balls are moving rapidly, I’ll glance over and focus for a moment. That seems to help balance things out for me. I have a friend who experiences more severe motion sickness than I do. While they found some relief using this feature, it didn’t completely resolve their symptoms like it did for me. It’s definitely worth trying, but I think the level of effectiveness can depend on how sensitive you are to motion.

@@michaelroselius5450 I used vocal shortcuts for a week just to try them out and yes the battery does drain slightly faster(about 2-3% more than with vocal shortcuts disabled) so I switched it off. Besides, Siri does the same stuff if you just say one word more

Another helpful video. I'd like to mention that I have waited update after update for a fix for the annoying way you can't connect "grab" a device when it has been connected to one iOS unit. So if I have been listening with buds connected to my iPad and I go to bed and try and connect the buds to my iPhone I can't without getting up and find my iPad, open its settings and hit "disconnect" even although it was switched off. It maybe a Bluetooth isuue, not Apple but it is still lame.

IOS18 sure brought more widgets optimization but it kinder feels like a downgrade considering, most of my Third Party apps no longer has access to widgets and the ones that work has lost functionality ( e.g: My calendar use to show upcoming events now it just show the date.) tried getting a better calendar no luck since there widgets are disabled by default.

It’s not that I don’t like the new photos layout, it’s just it’s really bugged. Pictures are overlapping when scrolling, not being able to manually navigate videos in slow motion, whilst zooming into pics and videos it doesn’t work properly in screen mirroring. Zooming into videos and trying to manually navigate through them causes all kinds of issues like crashes, video to reset and only being able to navigate a couple of seconds. I’m sure there’s a few more I’ve forgotten.

I thought the vocal shortcuts was a cool thing to setup. However it caused my CarPlay audio to sound horrible (mono). I drove myself nuts trying to determine the cause (cables, dirt in lightning port, radio firmware) but nothing helped. I later found an Apple Support post discussing this. Disabled vocal shortcuts and now the CarPlay audio is back to normal again. I suppose this is a bug with iOS 18 (Currently on 18.0.1)

Awesome video as usual, thank you. The vocal shortcuts option turned on, gave me a strange outcome in using CarPlay. The car would switch from vocal input to CarPlay so the sound would switch from mono to stereo randomly. It was a crazy mess and sometimes stayed on only on vocal input.

Thank you for the update. There are some interesting changes in iOS 18. One thing I have not heard a lot about is that the keyboard settings concerning language are different. I used to have three keyboards, one for English, one for Dutch and one for Swedish. Now I have two, one for English & Dutch and one for English & Swedish.

iOS 18 will feature as a separate update on the Software Updates page in Settings, usually further down the screen. You need to select it.

Do you think iOS will ever allow or have special keyboards layouts for certain languages? Like Gboard. I'm not talking about letters like éáöü, but those being placed where they are on a specific keyboard for that language. As an example, I'm Hungarian and when i type á or é I'm not striking towards a or e (left of the keyboard) and longpressing them will allow á and é but these are right on the keyboard next to L. It's not about muscle memory it's a significant thing I use every minute.

I really don't like the new photo app as well. Previously, when tilting the phone to landscape it would show a full format view instantly. Now I have to click on the image again to get rid of the pointless UI. I found out how to have videos play automatically but they also show as small vignettes and getting them to show in full format is a pain. Why add so many pointless features and remove the ability to just look at your gallery ?

The math conversion also works in Reminders & in fields on web forms (I’ve only tested in Safari). For example: I use a scheduling app that also tracks pricing and payroll. I can adjust in line and do the math right on the screen when I need to adjust the cost or pay for a housekeeper.

@@petercooke3671 You can switch your location to US and Siri language to US and download the Beta. It’s how I gain access for my videos, but I do it on a backup phone as betas are always a bit risky. If it were me, I’d wait, but entirely up to you of course.

The vocal shortcut thing somehow caused bluetooth connected devices on my phone to skip when playing audio any time the screen woke up or went to sleep, like with my airpods or on carplay. I don't know why it would cause that, but when I upgraded to ios 18 that started happening and I did some research and found where turning off the vocal shortcut feature would fix the problem, so I tried that, and it did fix that problem. I assume it's some kind of bug. Not sure if it's been fixed yet, or going to be fixed in the next update.

Please note, if you tap and hold the camera button it will provide you the same 4 options and you can select say for e.g. selfie or portrait selfie and take the photo. I have it in my control center.

Currency conversions seem to follow what you uses recently. In my case because I was just in the Philippines and I live in Singapore, the phone converts PHP to SGD by default.

@@johnbeattie7462 i think there isnt an option. But you can do a trick i do. Create a new album and leave it empty. Then drag the album you want inside of the new one. You just have to think on the order you want and create the one you want to be on top last. Create the bottom one first and so on. Not sure if this made sense to you.

Here’s another calendar tip… you can switch between compact, stacked, and detailed view by pinching and spreading two fingers (usually thumb and index). By default, detailed view shows 2-3 events/tasks, but spreading 2 fingers allows you to see more events/tasks without having to tap on the date.
