Another great line up. Not familiar with them all but most. Headhunter is one of my lifetime favorites. I also think that AS was one of Bowie’s best. Finally getting to play catch up on your videos. I can dig every one of the records you chose for 1973. I don't think that people (mostly dedicated Jazz people) take that Headhunters album serious enough. Charlie Rich album - one of my favorite country albums of all time. Anything out of Stevie Wonder's Spiritual/Psychedelic classic period is pretty flawless in my opinion. I think a lot of people tend to have that "fake elitist" mindset against Darkside of the Moon because it's become overtly popular... I've always told people like that "If you can listen to this record and call it overrated, or, played-out, etc, etc, then you know nothing about, nor have you any business listening to music".

Innervisions is Stevie Wonder's best as Dark Side is Pink Floyd's. 73 was one of the best music years ever. My Top 10 would have to include Jethro Tull's Passion Play; Genesis Selling England by the Pound; Eagles - Desperado; Doobie Brothers - The Captain and Me; Santana's Welcome; and It's a Beautiful Day - Today.

The Herbie and Stevie are really strong albums. Would be in my '73 list too probably. Trash is my fave song on that Dolls album. Ive been thinking about getting some glam years Bowie soon. Reading a book on how the glam scene influenced LA and NY punk scenes. I've tried Weather Report but found they were too inconsistent / hit and miss for me. Sometimes too cheesy. Lou Reed is a bit hit and miss for me too. Sometimes he's too classic rock sounding for my tastes. Im probably more of a John Cale / avant garde fan.

A bit of a wasted talent IMO. Berlin is for me overly ambitious and therefore not so a great record. His ex mate John Cale made with 1919 a fantastic record. That was way too fast for 10 albums, V-R, I demand a recount, but not in Florida. So how about ANOTHER TEN BEST ALBUMS 1973 Back by Popular Demand? I once wrote a looong Film International feature on the culture of 1973 and here is 11,000 words condensed to 2 sentences in the spirit of your lightning delivery: "A lot of history timed out in 1973. On 20 January, outside the Capitol Dome, President Nixon took his second solemn oath of office, swearing to uphold the Constitution, protect it safe as houses, and so on and so forth…" That put a new slant on 4:00 Charlie Rich's 'Behind Closed Doors'.

@@vinylrichie007 Maybe-The Small Faces' song "You Need Loving" was released on their first album. It is basically a rendition of Muddy Waters "You Need Love" written by Willie Dixon.
