They are all guitar legends that's one of the reason they're in the top but honestly like Kirk hammet is not that good(doesn't have a great style) in guitar . And also the fact that one of the greatest influencer in guitar history Angus Young is not in the top according to you is an utter disappointment and as a guitar player myself I say that Tim hemsion(POLYPHIA) has to be one of the best players

Music goes beyond age or iq or intelligence. Looking cool or jumping around doesn't do anything for music. Yes Angus was a great entertainer, and i love watching him but as a guitarist, he didn't really do much. Now I'm not talking about Technicality or virtuosity. I'm talking about versatility or taking musical risks. He never experimented like Jimmy page, Tony Iommi, David Gilmour, Hendrix or Ritchie Blackmore. All these players were musically innovative. Acdc does the same thing always. Not that it's bad, it's obviously okay to do what you want to. I love them for that. But here we're talking about musical revolution.

Yep, how anyone could leave Jeff Beck off a top 10 guitarist list, especially when the qualifier is innovation is beyond me. Several players on this list would likely put him at number one. He was one of one and the ultimate guitarist's guitarist.

@@Mr7fireman It depends how you define better. Same goes with "greatest". When it comes to music, it's very subjective. Page could be a bit sloppy, especially live, but the man could write killer riffs and is very tough to emulate. I think it's also important to consider how playing has evolved. Throw Babe Ruth into today's game and at the very least it would take him quite some time to catch up. Still would be ridiculous to say he's not one of the 5 greatest hitters of all time. This is why Jeff Beck should be on the list. For 60 years, his playing stood up to the most technical players in the world.

Jimmy was great. Much better than so many guitarists I've heard live . Also Jimmy was constantly improvising live. Everything was sudden. Secondly evh wasn't better. He was fast and flashy but musically he did very less. Nowhere did he have the composition skill of Page, nor the musicality or the phrasing. Page, Gilmour, Tony Iommi were goats because they cared firstly about the music and not if they're playing well enough to be impressive

@@brittneyking4284 please check out Soldier of Fortune. Deep Purple. You may not like it. It’s a great song in terms of song craft. It’s melodic (which I love) and the guitar playing is masterful. IMO it’s not his best guitar work. For a taste of his virtuoso playing check out solo for Highway Star or Lazy. Be for warned it’s old school. Let me know what you think. Honest opinion please. What your fav guitar songs? I’ll check em out. Last question - are you a guitarist?
