I remember Mick Foley telling a story about having a hardcore match with Owen and two other guys. The various things they used to bludgeon each other got truly goofy as the match went on, and a giant bag of popcorn was used at one point on Owen, and he sold it like he got a chair shot. When Foley looked down at him after a few seconds, he saw that Owen had made a “popcorn angel” on the floor.

I couldn't help but burst into laughter after hearing all these. It only shows just how beloved Owen actually was when he was out of the ring. No one was safe from him, and stuff like this only make viewers and fans miss him even more. While I doubt he'd be able to get away with it in a modern setting (assuming he was still wrestling in his 60s), his presence was well known.

If your looking for really good matches of his, the match against Shawn Micheals and Vader are both 5 stars I think they are both on In Your House and One Night Only events but Owen takes out Shawn with a Eniguri injuring him for weeks such a great storyline Owen was my fav and tryluely paved the way for guys like Jericho, XPac, Dolph Ziggler and alot of others aswell he was Kurt Angle and Benoit before they existed and was so well rounded and hilarious.

The Jim Powers one was another great one; for those who haven't heard it, Jim Duggan called the lobby and asked where the gym was, to which Owen took the phone and told him to "find it yourself you lazy bastard". He then threatens to kick his ass at the lobby to which an enraged Duggan proceeds to rush down to the lobby to confront this guy. Before Duggan gets there, Owen hands the phone beck to the concierge and says to him "Just tell him it was me, Jim Powers."
