YES! I need to go consistently to classes in my area. Also, I love the tip about using Facebook for finding groups.

Any tips for sites to find classes ? Besides social media . I don't use fb / ig ect
@TheDenisedrake4 ай бұрын
@@banderas2000 A lot of businesses have classes. For example, we are getting interested in tea. A local tea shop is hosting tea tasting classes.

Somewhere you can see someone on a weekly basis at least. you get to "know" each other. And actually build relationships. Vs at bar / club or event a quick event. Your there boom next time they are somewhere else. This is why relationships can develop at work. You get to be around someone and get a feel for them rather than a stranger on the st.

If you have a fur baby, utilize walks! I went to a forest preserve consistently to walk my dog, and I noticed the same people coming to walk,/run. I missed my walks a few days with my dogs. The guy that runs there each day said haven't seen you in a while." We stopped and talked and I said I know, my dog needed a break to rest her leg, guess we overdid it! But now she's back." Now, I'm excited for the weather to get better so I can get back to it.

I'm just seeing this! Honestly, one of the things that's been working for me is searching on Instagram. Even if nothing pops up, it now knows what I want and when people in my area then run ads for a class or event, it shows up in my feed

What makes you think that people talk to each other in class? This is not my experience. Adults show up last minute and leave as soon as the class is over. There is no time to talk.

Thanks for commenting. I think it depends on the class, and I also think it takes time ( a lot longer than it used to) to break the ice.

would you have any advice for drop in classes? i use ClassPass and sometimes manage to book the same time slot every week... but 90% of the time, all my classmates are different people. its often like this with dance or gym classes as well. most tend to be "drop in" classes

Start going to a regular class. Stand in the same spot. You’ll start to see a pattern of who shows up. Or become a regular at those drop ins to start recognizing the other regulars. I swear there are some there!

I drove for Uber. It's good to meet new people. But it is hard to make lasting relationships. One time while driving for Uber, I met someone who advised me to go out to pubs to meet people and socialize to get ahead in life. I am not a pub and drinks person so I didn't take his advice.

Yeah, not always the easiest to make long term relationships but is a possibility and it provides a lot of opportunities for those one off meetings to become a deeper relationship!

@@OneHelloConsulting Thank you, Cassie! You have given me plenty of ideas that I can use.
@banderas20004 ай бұрын
@@btrueeth I agree. Bars clubs not good. Not even events like a dance event or concert. A consistent class is good.

Who has time to just hang out in public hoping that you might make friends. I am 58 and have never made a friend from a business that i supported. Most of us don't have the option of working from a coffee shop. Remember your life experiences are the exception not the rule. P.S. Your wrong churches have not changed, they are still breading grounds for toxic people.
