Tekken 3 is still the bees knees and still looks glorious to this day 😁 Rival schools & bloody roar could also stand up to these fighters. Also, street fighter ex, I am sure pete onaretrotip woulda already mentioned that 👌 Nice list Paul 🙂

Got to admit I didn’t even know the original Mortal Kombat was on PS1, I only played it on my Amiga, same for Soul Calibur, I only remember playing it on PS2, either way great game but personally I enjoyed these more.

@@Retro_B8 the original was not on PS1 but it had many others like MK trilogy which hadd all the characters in it from all the previous titles. Another good one is Marvel Vs Capcom

@@fade2black001 ah, was it in a kind of cardboard golden box, sure I had that one! Marvel V Capcom was extremely close to being included, I did play that a lot! Tbh there’s so many to choose from in the system, we were blessed with awesome fighters!

Fantastic list, I loved that era of fighting games. Rival schools was always my top choice but I played a lot of Mutant Academy, Tekken and Street Fighter. I need to try Bushido Blade that looked interesting.

Ah thanks mate, me too although I want amazing at the games they always were so much fun as a two player! Bushido was great, personally I found it incredibly difficult but after time certain kills were very satisfying

Always enjoyed the jiggling bits in dead or alive. Battle arena toshinden was Always my favourite though, remember playing the demo again and again.

Yes it was street fighter alpha 3, did I mix it up somehow, they’re both superb games! Soul Blade was in the ten until the last minute, as much as I played it it was just way too hard for me but that’s more my gaming tbh!

Tekken 3 was the first game I played on the PlayStation. Funny enough, that game is on the PlayStation Classic but it's the PAL version. Battle Arena Toshinden is also on the PlayStation Classic, again it's the PAL version. A lot of those games were PAL.

To me being in the UK it’s normal as it’s what I’m used to but yeah if the mini was being sold in an NTSC region it really should’ve been updated as going from 60hz to 50hz there is quite a noticeable difference in gameplay speed I’d imagine and even the music would be slower that what you are used to! There is a way to put your own games onto the PSmini but I wonder if there’s a reason they only included PAL games?

Mutant Academy 2 shoulda been on the list instead. Its an expanded version of MA1 with more characters (Including Spider-Man) and more content. Also CvS1 Pro while an excellent game on Naomi Arcade (and on Dreamcast) is simply terrible on PS1. So much loadtimes and the entire presentation takes a massive hit with low resolution visuals and lots of missing frames of animation. So many other great titles could've taken it place on the list. Otherwise a solid list. Glad to see GBA2!

I didn't play 2D Fighting Games on the PS1. They was always better for the Sega Saturn & Dreamcast until PS2. Plus those awful load times. LOL!

Ah I never played either the Dreamcast or Saturn until relatively recently but back then I didn’t know better. Haha I’m from a Commodore 64 background so to me the loading times were like the flash haha!!

Goes to show how many great fighting games were on the PlayStation. WWF was the nuts! For me that was top (except for Tekken of course) played that so many times multiplayer with the fam, everyone wanted to be The Rock 😂 wicked video 🤌👊🔪🩸🍆
