Im a Paramedic and a Specialized SAR Tech in Canada so the Marathon GSAR (granted I got the 41 anthracite) was a great and patriotic choice. I have beat the watch to absolute points. Still ticking, still tritiuming(?). Also marathons customer service is spectacular. Highly recommend. Be warned, the watch is thicker than you'd expect. The dial, cone and hands are quite high to clear sweep over the tritium tubes. I also have the Longines Conquest, great finishing and details on it. I have an auto as it was on clearance but the quartz would be the same quality and details... And more accurate
@spicydragon3881 Жыл бұрын
Great video and great list. These are all great picks and would fit 99% of most of us day to day. Christopher Ward has been doing some absolutely amazing things lately. Their design, details and finishing for the money are just beyond reproach.

They’ll win the value proposition every time due to their pricing policy… it’s simply they charge 3x what the watch costs to make regardless of hype

Great list chaps! One of my favorite GADA watches for around $1000 is the Muhle Glashutte Panova Blau! 100M WR, screw down crown, Modified Sellita Movement, Simple dial layout, Strap monster. Been in my collection 2 years now, not leaving it anytime soon

The Seiko SARX055, to me, is an easy addition to this list. Titanium, ~GS level dial and polishing. Sapphire and AR coating. It blows me away every time I look at it. All for less than $900.

*It has a GREAT dial but it ain’t a Grand Seiko by any stretch.*

I think you're kinda stretching it when you compare it to GS, although I see your point about the dial, it is awesome. It does not have the same attention to detail though.

As a collection of 10 at a price point video by you guys, this is by far and away the “best” collection yet. Yes there have been nicer watches in the other vids but as a collection as a whole, this 10 collectively are absolutely superb. Love every one of them. Each one very very tempting. The CW and the Maen look cracking.

If I scrape my pennies together enough to go for something even close to a grand, it'd be the Hamilton Murphy. I have discovered big value for money in an Islander ISL-116 Southold and was happily surprised by an Aragon Divemaster II 42mm for under $150. They're not exactly luxury watches but they are outstanding, comfortable watches driven by Seiko movements.

I love my Oceanus T200. Paid 375$ shipped to my door in the US from Japan. Bought it hoping I could pick up an inexpensive but high quality watch to wear most days, one that if it gets scratched or banged up wont hurt my wallet quite so much and I am very pleased. Its not quite to the level of my Grand Seiko's but for the price it is very very good. Only problem is they're JDM only so you have to import them.

I'm happy to see some Farer love! I love all of their designs, but own their world timer. I wanted the Omega WT but it was just too far out of my range. I think Farer fit so much into their version it made me so excited to own it. It's one of my go-to easy weekend wears!

Great video guys 👍🏼 finally you showed some love to Farer, they make gorgeous watches with proper movements, love the 36mm red dial. Christopher Ward is also another no brainer in this price range, Farer and CW are the best watchmakers in the below 3k price range in my opinion and they're both British. Citizen series8 is another good mention, good to see more Citizens, they deserve the exposure, well done. Maen is another brand that is very underrated. But Serica and Corniche don't have good customer service and they're not very honest brands regarding the parts they use and the originality of their brands, who in their right mind pays 1k for a NH35 watch from Corniche?! Or who pays over 1k for a Serica with faulty Soprod Newton movement? I don't know!

Nice to see the Citizen NA1015-81Z get mentioned here. It really is a very nice looking watch. The only problem is that it's a very unique looking watch and kinda stands out from all the other watches that I own. But fear not, as I think I have found a watch that will compliment this one. The Seiko SPB363J1, although this doesn't have the same angular chisel looks of the Citizen NA1015-81Z and Giga Chad, it does have a similar case and braclet colour, and with its purpley-blue dial and rose gold batons, it definitely does pop out, very much like the Citizen.

Couldn't agree more on Christopher Ward. I own the C63 Sealander Automatic and the only minor regret I have is that I ordered mine before they introduced the smaller case-sizes (I have the 39mm, but 36mm might look better on my 17cm wrist). Other than that: Incredibly well built and attention to detail and finish are just superb for the price. Plus: I really love their adjustable clasp which, IMO, is well beyond what you can usually expect in this region of the market.

Value for money? Well I have a couple. For a well respected Swiss watch I think the Tissot PRX would be vary hard to beat in either quartz or mechanical versions. For something that would still tell the time in almost any situation I'd pick a solar G-Shock but given the many options from the brand I'll stick my neck out and suggest the GW-M5610 square. A bargain for the price and it doesn't need an app for those occasions when there isn't a mobile mast to be seen...... or in 30 year time when the app is no longer supported.

Good values here! I would add Traska. Their designs are simple and no nonsense and they use some sore of super hard stainless steel on their bracelets that really are scratch resistent. I wear the green commuter as my weekend warrior regularly and it looks brand new still after abour one year. Zero scratches! I think mine was about $500 US.

The enamel dial on the Ferer is really unique. The lume too around the numbers is so special. A very unique special dial and i worked in a dial company in Switzerland and to be honest the british are making some of the very best enamel dials like Al ordain. The VC watches are amazing but cost a fortune but next to Rolex Omega they are far superior in every way when you see the basic overseas model for around £20K.

Longines is great watchmaker, with history, quality at an affordable price, one of my preferred.
