My first wrestling match I ever saw was Big Van Vader vs Cactus Jack at Halloween Havoc 1993 at the age of 5. Really, the only thing I remembered was watching Vader doing a moonsault. That's what hooked me.

Jericho v. Dean malenko and his list of 1004 holds is when Jericho became my favorite wrestler and has been ever since. I used to get made fun of by my friends because he wasn't triple h or Austin or the rock or in the nWo. Ha ha joke is on them... I think I can safely say at this point that Jericho is the g.o.a.t.

@@carrollkuemperperhaps because this very angle is what led to the tragic murders of Nancy Toffoloni and her son Daniel? It's a real shame that some people care more about kayfabe than reality. Snuka's legacy and reputation was destroyed in 2015 when the murder charge against him received widespread coverage. Benoit brought this situation on himself. They are both disgraces to the wrestling industry.

So...Luger and Sting is on this list but you completely ignore that they had an original falling out and Feud in 1991-1992 and that was the last time Luger was in WCW before he came back in 95? that grounding is honestly the only reason why they should be on the list at all so leaving it out is weird

The end of WCW was due to the AOL Time Warner merger. After Russo’s brief period of crap, WCW had some of the best talent and matches even towards the end. Watching monsters like Goldberg and Scott Steiner beat the s**t out of each other was awesome. The mixture of Japanese wrestlers like The Great Muta, Chono, Ultimate Dragon,Justin Thunder Liger with the luchadores like Psicosis, Rey Mysterio Jnr, Juventud Guerrera and big named stars like Hogan, Goldberg, Sting, Ric Flair,Randy Savage, Booker T, DDP, Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarret, Lex Luger, Bam Bam Bigelow,Lance Storm,Buff Bagwell (despite WWE propaganda Buff was over big time and the new younger talent including a young AJ Styles known as Air Styles in WCW, if there was a proper Invasion with WCW’s full roster WWE would look weak in comparison. There’s a reason why 3 million fans of 80’s and 90’s wrestling don’t watch it anymore because WCW despite all the WWE propaganda (history is written by the victors) WCW had better matches, even Vince McMahon himself when asked what was the deciding factor for you beating WCW in the ratings, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the main reason cited. Fair weather, casual or non fans tuned in just to see Austin entertain them. The Rock also to a lesser extent and Mankind & Undertaker but Mankind & Undertaker were giving it their all when WCW was still beating WWE badly and more people paid to see Hollywood Hogan Vs Roddy Piper at a WCW PPV then The WWE’s main event on their months PPV which was Rock VS Austin! With WCW gone and the son in law HHH’s reign of terror with him & his wife putting himself over every big name in WCW & WWE and every up and coming young white hot new face in the company, having to beat Hogan,HBK & Austin’s Royal Rumble wins, having to break the record on how many title reigns was frustrating and gave the company bad heat in which you didn’t want to see the heel get beat you just didn’t watch because you knew he was going over. When I heard Sting was going to the WWE I knew they wouldn’t give the fans what they what i.e. Sting Vs Taker because the whole “in the end it’s the fans who decide” motto is total BS, I knew it would be HHH going over with the Sledgehammer a stupid gimmick that could kill someone. His long boring promos as infuriating as his long boring matches is why I and millions of other fans no longer watch the sport we loved since childhood and I’m sick of all these marks who probably only started watching Wrestling in the late 90’s on WWE making anti WCW KZbin videos because they get their revised, biased history from the victors i.e. WWE. I’m glad this video wasn’t as disparaging as most but whatever mistakes you think WCW has done with booking or Gimmicks throughout its history, WWF/WWE have eclipsed that by light years. Pro-Wrestling is dead and WWE’s Sports Entertainment from the early 2000’s to today is a bastardized version of what Wrestling was

Good video although I can tell like a lot of KZbinrs that cover wrestling that a lot of things they know about WCW or what they get from WWE documentaries. Like I can tell that there are a lot of people that believe WWF from the beginning of time just rain supreme except for two years in the 90s and WCW was just the shit show except for for those two years . Because most the history is coming from the WWF I know a lot of people think that Vince McMahon went national first and just started buying up all the territories, except for WCW. Actually, WCW and WWF both went national around the same time. And if you’re talking about the early 80s, NWA/WCW was just as popular as WWF. Was it just kind of depended on where you lived in the country. It’s not like WWF could just go to the Carolinas or Georgia and draw 15,000 people whenever they wanted. They tried it a few times even in the early 90s WWF with Hulk Hogan headlining would Come to cities that were mainly WCW cities in the south where WCW could sell out the building whether is 10,000 or 12,000 or whatever WWF would do 3000. But it would be the same thing when WCW would try to go up to their territory when they were both trying to expand. You have to remember wrestlemania was not the first televised supercard. Starrcade which was shown nationally, enclosed circuit ( That’s what it was before PPV came along) In 1983 two years before anyone had even heard the name wrestlemania. I wouldn’t say either company was really blowing the other one out of the water in the first half of the 80s they were both seen nationwide and they were both doing great. The 80s were just a great time because both companies were printing money. Jim Crockett Jr. Sell WCW because business was down and they couldn’t sell out areas anymore. The day before they had found out they were 5 million in the hole they had just returned from a tour where they were selling out buildings all over the place. They had just sold out the Greensboro Coliseum the night before. Business was great. The problem was the way they handled. The accounting was messed up. WWF was growing, but they really didn’t grow up to monster sized I would say until 1987. Yes, the wrestling world was loving the WWF from 85 but by the time you get to 87 I feel like that’s when Hogan was at his peak and WWF in the 80s hit their peak because that’s when they started Lauring in people who didn’t used to be wrestling fans. Millions of people that had never Watched wrestling before got into Hulk Hogan versus André the giant. Because, even if you didn’t watch wrestling these two guys were celebrities all over the globe. I’m not saying it was the best match of the 80s but it was definitely the biggest. But honestly from the early 80s through the end of 86 that NWA/WCW was actually better. In 1991 both companies started hurting and in 1992 they were both trying different things that worked for the fans that were left but they were trying to still bring back old fans. Actually think wrestling in America from 1992 to through the middle of 1994 was actually pretty damn good for both companies. Now mid 94 to 1996 besides Hogan‘s first night in with that first PPV against Ric Flair that was their biggest buy rate to that time, but after that WCW sucked for two years. WWF from mid 94 to mid 96 even though they were losing money, they lost millions during this time, they were still 10 times better than WCW. Eric just fed the entire company to Hulk. he didn’t understand at the time that you can get Hogan over and use that to help get the promotion over but instead the way he booked it was it made it look like WCW was a minor-league wrestling club and we were just lucky to have Hulk Hogan. by the time you get to the fall of 1994 Hogan’s getting booed and you can’t hide it. But actually, WCW did not off the top of the mountain. I don’t know why he stated at the beginning of the video that it didn’t. No they didn’t put them out of business but from mid 1996 until the summer of 1998 WCW was the number one wrestling promotion in the world. They are the only other company , besides WWE in the entire history of professional wrestling that can honestly say for a period of time they were the biggest wrestling company in the world. This wasn’t a fan opinion it’s just every way you could measure success, which in wrestling is selling out areas, ratings, PPV rates and merchandise cells. For two years WCW dominated in all categories.

No, please don't. We don't need yet another video regurgitating WWE myths about WCW. They couldn't even help themselves in this one, claiming Austin was fired because he was injured when in reality he was fired because he broke his contractual obligations. WCW wanted him to film a promo while he was recovering from injury so his character would stay active but his response was to no-show and then abuse them over the phone. WCW were 100% in the right and had no other option but to fire him.

You said you were limiting it to 1991 and on considering the NWA and WCW "battle" and you said that Sting and Luger didn't have their first ever singles PPV match until 1999, WRONG! In the previously mentioned SuperBrawl 2 with the Pillman and Liger feud the main even was Sting VS Luger for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship Title which Sting won and Luger left the company to go to the WBF, LOL, and the WWF. So Luger left in 1992 and returned in 1995 and they had in the allotted time frame that you are looking at the before match and the after match, the before match was good but compared to the 1999 match it was a CLASSIC cause the match in 1999 sucked honestly.

Who was the oldest person to hold a world title during the so-called "Attitude Era" in either WCW or WWE? If you said Ric Flair or Hulk Hogan you'd be wrong! It was actually someone who is 4 years older than Flair and 8 years older than Hogan... Someone who was never in WCW... Someone who booked themselves to win their own world title... Someone called Vince McMahon!
