Aalienik There was actually an Empty Arena Match in Memphis in the ‘70s with Jerry Lawler and Terry Funk. It’s a really solid fight. The ending with Lawler kicking a spike in Funk’s eye is definitely memorable with Terry screaming “MY EYE! MY EYE!” Hahaha. Good stuff. I think it’s on KZbin.

At WCPW's event "State of Emergency" Joey Ryan, then holder of the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship, was in a match with Joe Hendry. During the match, Jack the Jobber does a run in and Pins Joey for the title, though he is pinned by Joey in return a short while later dropping the title back to him. Hendry then pins Joey to win the match and also the Heavymetalweight title. Hendry cut a promo stating that he hated comedy wrestling and promptly threw the title in the trash. With this act the Trash bin became recognized as the champion. Jack found the Trash bin back stage and pinned it to win the title for the second time. Joey Ryan then pinned Jack again to win the title back and thus ended all the title shenanigans for the evening.

I had to check out that DDT monkey match. It's on KZbin and it's fucking depressing. The monkey is on a lead and clearly trying to run away for the majority of the "match" but it's trainer keeps pulling it back. I'm all for having a monkey character or a wrestler who thinks they're a monkey or something, but this is just animal cruelty. Not only are they a disgrace to the wrestling business, they are a disgrace as human beings for putting an innocent creature through that. The poor thing was terrified.
