3 minutes in and I am saying, "Yes and Amen, sister!!!" 😄 No one should be influencing a child more than their parents. ❤️

I really hope you continue to make videos even after you graduate your 4th kid… you’ve been such a blessing here on KZbin… and I’m sure I’m not the only homeschool mom that would love to see “Mom Life After Homeschool” or at least Life Updates; ) you can still even do videos of What you would be using and flip throughs of new curriculum etc.

As my son will be starting 8th grade next month, I find myself already thinking ahead towards his high school year with dual enrollment. Thank you for sharing your experience for the rest of us following behind you to glean from your experiences.

I have two upcoming seniors this year, crazy to actually say that out loud. My oldest has a mental illness that has caused her to be hospitalized MANY times over the past few years and we being able to be super flexible with our schooling schedule has literally been a lifesaver! Also both of my teens have some learning disabilities so being able to slow down certain subjects and use specialized curriculum, or just more laid back curriculum for subjects that are seriously not a favorite, is so wonderful.

Thank you for sharing these! I always get the comment “you’ll put them in public school for high school though right?!”. Nope. Haha there are way too many benefits to homeschooling. Thank you for always being encouraging for this path!

All of these are so good. My oldest will be in 7th grade next year and this summer we have spent a chunk of time going over the direction of her schooling and where she wants to be going into high school and's for me that means watching all the videos and picking curriculum. We mentioned it to my mom and she was surprised we were already talking about high school, I guess it just shows the difference between public and homeschool in that the child is involved more as they get older.

Very much agree with everything! So much wisdom for those with younger children. I recently graduated my son and can say it was the best decision we ever made. He is so thankful for the opportunity to learn at his pace and have taken lots of dual enrollment classes and has even set himself up to graduate college in a year while working in his field of choice.

I have been homeschooling since the beggining of my littles lives, so I still have many years ahead as we are in early elementary currently, but my husband and I have no intentions to stop homeschooling when they are in highschool. Highschool age is just as important as when they were 6 or 10. God almighty, Yeweh has given us the authority to be our childrens soul provider of their influence and like you said emotional, physical and mental safety. I was just recently asked again by family members, "if my kids asked to attend public Highschool would I let them go?" I always kindly explain why being 6 or 16 doesnt change our view on why its important they continue to stay away from the worlds disgusting agendas in the public Highschools, they will continue to learn about the real world at appropriate times while we continue to cling to our Lord and savior. I see fruit already in my children and the public school system has a goal to corrupt that. NO Thank you! K-12 at home!!!!🎉🎉 Its such a blessing and gift from the Lord to be a mamma and teacher to my babies.

I love the time factor for sure. It definitely gives us more time to help our kids understand who they are and "whose" they are. When I taught college level courses many moons back, I saw so many kids who "fell apart" one month into college life. Surprisingly to me, the ones who kept it together were the homeschool kids. I have to keep remembering this every time I get frustrated with homeschooling my kids. 😂

I totally agree that homeschooled children tend to be far better prepared to transition into the "real" world. They are able to experience the transition in the safety of their home (work, college courses, life skills) rather than learning on their own at college with/from peers or on their own once they leave home. I also value the blessing of freedoms/time you speak of.

I'm entering homeschooling for highschool after private middle school, homeschool prior to that, Montessori elementary school prior to that! Gotta say that we're all so happy with this decision, for all of the reasons you mentioned!

These are all great benefits of homeschooling high schoolers! My oldest is in middle school, but I look forward to the high school years as we continue homeschooling.

We graduated one in 2021 and he is an amazing citizen, thriving in his workplace! It was a beautiful graduation with family and close friends! Keeping the innocence thru these years is so beneficial! We are still homeschooling as we have a 7 and 4yr old so I am in the pits of elementary school again! I ❤ it!

I agree with all you said❤… My daughter is also going into her 12th year of homeschool and I feel the same way as you often share… Today I was thinking how life can be pretty hard I have my kids future on my mind and also balancing my marriage, church, family etc. a Bible verse that helped me today was… Psalms 31:24 NKJV “Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.” ❤ AMEN! Thank you God😊

I agree with all your reasons! I will have a 10th and 7th grader this year. I love having them home with me and wouldn't trade it for anything. My oldest wants to do something in the equine field so we have been doing Equine science electives so she can learn as much as possible now and can continue to build on it. This up coming year I have built in time during the day for her to be able to work with our horses and spend more time with them!

My daughter is also a 7th grader this year and is also wanting to doing something in the equine field. What sort of equine science electives have you looked into? Other than Campfire Curriculum and her volunteer time at a horse rescue barn I’d love to implement something like equine science to our school day. 😊

@@erinr86 at that age it included her riding lessons and her doing research on different topics. I have not found a pre done curriculum. Last year we went to UC Davis when they were doing a Symposium and other Vet Hospitals for their open houses. I create the course each year.
