I was at a Raw in 2001 (the one where Austin and Rock sing Margaritaville together), and just before the TV broadcast began Lillian Garcia got on the house mic to tell us that in a few minutes the broadcast feed would begin, they'd do a big pyro display, and we should cheer our heads off. The pyro just never went off, so it was a little unclear when we should cheer, but we sort of realized something went wrong and rolled with it. I imagine there were a few nervous pyro guys wondering if the display was going to go off at random at some point during the night.

The one pyro incident that didn’t make sense to me even from the concept standpoint was Pharaoh. Even without the pyro, fans screaming are still loud. Same issue with the kennel from hell match. The dogs were scared and over stimulated. The noise would have hurt him even without the mortars.
