Edge is the real OG of Money in the Bank concept. He was the first ever winner and his un-announced cash in on Cena at New Year's Revolution made him the Ultimate Opportunist. Following year he interfered in the RVD vs Cena match at One Night stand to stick it to Cena again. He then went on to steal another World title next year by cashing in on a beaten up Undertaker. The tables turned the year after where he was on the receiving end of CM Punk's first cash-in for the World title. And last, the year after CM Punk again cashed in on Jeff Hardy who had just won the title minutes prior in a Ladders match against who else, Edge. So for the first five years, it was literally Edge who was involved in the outcome of the MITB in some capacity.

Yeah Money in the Bank works the same as the Royal Rumble, King of the Ring or even Elimination Chamber. These 6,8 or even 30 participants want a title shot, they have to fight in a grueling ladder/cage/battle royal/tournament to earn it. Simple. Bayley’s cash in is my favorite because you’d believe a lovable huggable babyface like her would probably have a failed cash in due to her being to noble and nice to attack someone while injured but because it was Charlotte and I feel like when anyone especially another horsewoman has the chance to stick it to Charlotte they will take it and it was awesome

Asuka MITB/championship victory was a great moment. It's a great way to write out a wrestler for any reason.
@ericmaassel99993 жыл бұрын
I can't be too hard on Asuka. She won mitb and it was revealed that the brief case contained the title. She did at least win a match worth of the title to get the title.

I have these ideas for lists: - 10 most benefited wrestlers thanks to MITB. - 10 most inconic MITB Ladder Match spots. - 5 best and worst MITB Ladder matches. - 15 WWE PC/ThunderDome Era moments that would've been better with a real crowd. - 10 WWE moments that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the pandemic. - 10 WWE stars of the Pandemic Era (and we are in debt with them) - Every WWE PPV from the Pandemic Era ranked from Worst to Best. - 10 best wrestling matches of the first half of 2021. - 10 best TNA matches during the Hogan/Bischoff Era. - 5 best and worst things about the Invasion storyline (holy F, it's been 20 years from that?) -

As long as Adam is spouting his amazing one-liners and brings his energy to these lists, I don't care for the format! 5 Best/Worst is also great for if there isn't enough material for a full tenner

Asuka won it though….. she just didn’t know the belt was in the case
@BetleyIsland363 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY!!! I hate when people say she was handed the belt. It was just a ladder match that they didn't know was for the belt.
@Rocket13773 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The kayfabe explanation is that the match was secretly for the belt all along, and Becky simply want to wait until after the MITB ladder match to announce that she was pregnant and had already vacated the title.

Adam please do how WWE should book Roman Reigns losing the Universal title
@JungleBunkRootsMusic20223 жыл бұрын
Hopefully to a young, charismatic full time star who connects with the fans and is credible enough to dethrone the trible chief. So basically nobody on the current roster is ready to do it😐
@keshavbhargavbakshi3 жыл бұрын
@@JungleBunkRootsMusic2022 I think the top two contenders for him currently are Big E or Keith Lee.
@SpiritxEnigma3 жыл бұрын
@@JungleBunkRootsMusic2022 Right, nobody is ready. Big E has the potential but they have barely done him any favors. I get he shouldn’t drop the New Day stuff entirely, but he needs to up the intensity like that time he cut that serious promo on The Usos. Keith Lee has the potential as well. I always go back to that 2019 Men’s SSeries match ending with Roman. However he’s disappeared from TV entirely which has killed his momentum. We have no info either. They could be wanting him to lose weight or he could have something serious like cancer, god forbid. It also doesn’t help that he’s getting up there in age. I feel like the person who beats Roman needs to be someone WWE is gonna invest in long-term. I honestly hope the stars align & we get another *white* hot guy with WM30 Bryan-level momentum to dethrone Roman instead of a *red* hot flavor of the year like Rollins in 2019. However at this point, they’d be lucky to even get that considering they’re not doing themselves any favors when it comes to building new stars.
@JungleBunkRootsMusic20223 жыл бұрын
@@SpiritxEnigma Exactly. Wwe have done a great job building up roman as the supreme villain but they've done a poor job of building up a conquering hero. Whoever beats roman should be the guy who carries the wwe for years to come, like cena beating jbl at wm21. Unfortunately they haven't got that babyface who's popular enough and credible enough to do it. Big e has been kept in the midcard, keith lee is MIA, drew has lost all momentum, cesaro is probably destined to be an upper midcarder and edge doesnt need the honour at all. The last mega babyface they had was bryan in 2014(not counting cena since he was pretty polarising).

I still stand by this, Cena was never meant to win that briefcase. He always looked actually surprised that he won, the handle breaking, him being the first failed cash in... It all makes me think an accident happened and WWE quickly corrected course. This is my head cannon, thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I wouldn't necessarily call Asuka a cashin or "being handed the title" the match was for the briefcase, which Asuka fought and got. It just turned out the briefcase had the title in it. Otherwise, they'd have had to vacate the title because Becky was leaving. It's not too different from it being a ladder match no? The surprise and emotion was pretty heartwarming.

Asuka *was* fighting for the title, though. She went through an entire MITB match for the briefcase that she had, that Becky told her to open. She earned it, even if we didn't know it was in there at the time. Plus, there is established precedent for an MITB match being for a title

I've seen a lot of people who didn't like how Lynch just gave Asuka the title, but I've not heard any good alternatives. Lynch couldn't wrestle because she was pregnant, vacating the title with MitB in play seems like a strange move, so what could they have done?

I was at Money in the Bank 2017 in St. Louis. And while the event itself was fun, that was the show that had Ellsworth win the briefcase, Lana’s debut, New Day and Usos having a great match which ended in count out, Mike and Maria debut, Jinder beating Randy AGAIN, the Corbin win, and my personal favorite...I sat next to a very bored mother of two who took a phone call saying she couldn’t talk because she was watching “Wrestlemania or something.” What a night.
