We see many Prophets in the Tanakh that were Non-Jews but converted. There were non-jewish prophets like Ruth, Obadiah, Job, Balaam, etc, etc. Yeah, in this modern-times conversion is not generally encouraged but that's because Jews fear that converts might cause havoc in the Religion.
