Some of them! If you need to apply pressure to the frosting e.g. stencils you'll need to use a frosting that gets firm when it sets e.g. buttercream

What are baking strips?

They're thick strips of fabric that don't burn in the oven. You can buy them from cake decorating shops or make your own by soaking old towels in water, squeezing out the excess and then wrapping in aluminium foil and wrapping around your pans. They make the cakes bake more slowly and evenly and with flat tops!

Hi! I started baking in Costa Rica and learnt all of the terms in Spanish and then moved to the US and learnt it all in American English. I suppose I should look up what things are known as in the UK! Are there any words in particular that you would say are Americanisms?

@BritishGirlBakes Hello! Plastic wrap, we call it cling film. Parchment paper, we call it baking paper. Frosting, we call it icing. So we ice a cake. If using buttercream, we say decorated with buttercream. The product we use to make buttercream and icing is called icing sugar. That said, I did like your designs and the double bagging tip, which seems a great idea! Inot sure making your own stencils could be called a shortcut, though 😉
