The 2005 mystery models were mail ins, they were all Volkswagen. They did the new beetle cup, vw bug, vw drag truck & the baja beetle you opened.

One of my favorite Hot Wheels VW castings. I believe the Mystery bug came in a Hot Wheels display case or maybe in a package of the Hot Wheels branded protectos I can't remember which...

the vw bug castings are cool, i love the old school wheels on the red one, the real riders on the yellow versions look good the mace version looks the best . im still a stickler to the old redlines and five spoke mags from the late 60's to mid 70's those were my favorite wheel and tire combo.

Nice Iv got a couple of those. do you have any of the Down & Dirty ones iv wanted them since they came out but still havnt picked any up. They should do a sand scorcher blue livery that would be awesome.

Baja Bug was the only Volkswagen Beetle casting I could ever find in stores when I was a kid. Eevil Weevil and the Custom Beetle were before my time (more or less, though I think the Weevil got some US-only gas station promo releases in the early 1980s) and the still-in-use-today VW Bug casting didn't get released until 1989. I think the Jungle Rally from 2011(?) was the last time Baja Bug got released as a mainline (excluding 5-packs).

I wonder if i were to paint newer real riders from lets say the 100 dalmations vw or the one batmobile, i wonder how similar they would look to the older rel riders?

@Shawn Stafford my first car was a '77 firebird with a 301 and from that day I wanted a'77-78 Trans Am but where I live they rotted out years ago but i searched for 8 years and finally found one that was solid also had a 455 from an earlier model pontiac also a custom paint job. A buddy of mine aquired it and sold it to me for only 2 grand on payments at that. I sold it ironicly 8 years later but i have regretted it since. But yeah my favorite car!

@Shawn Stafford pretty cool bro. I miss havn cool cars. Stuck with 2 freakn masda 3's at the time being. Just lost a pathfinder due to this shity town. But hopefully soon i will get something pre '87 camaro, T.A., cutlass , regal or maybe an old school 60's wagon! problem is, what i see as cool, my old lady sees as junk .but one day
