Sticking with Code One, more then enough complexity while still having interesting choices. Don't play often enough for all that extra stuff but do miss Nomads.

Code One is excellent. I don’t know that I would be playing N4 right now if it hadn’t been for the tournament. And with TAGs coming this month what more do you need??

I don't know if anyone noticed (not seen on the forum). But on the Christmas miniature of Fat Yuan Yuan, there is a big green box with the letters M and rs. All the other boxes that the FYY has on board are based on real boxes of corvus belli, but this box I didn't see it on their store. Maybe it's a new game, in this case it could be the letters for REM Racers, in the fluff infinity rpg there are remotes races. Also there was supposed to be something in October, according to the 2020 calendar, I think the game has jumped from the planning but not from the miniature ^^
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
I think you could be onto something. There are a few rumours floating around about some form of REM racer game or something. Would be good for a little Easter egg to be hidden!

been playing a bit off code one the last two weekends with a friend - plan is to move up to N4 as we get better with code one ... mostly so we can play JSA and Nomads. We have been playing code one rules with a couple of list that are not in code one but we knew were balanced opponents from N3 ... largely because I haven't assembled or painted the Kaldstrom box yet :D

Got to tackle that pile of shame 😂 honestly you’ll both just find that N4 is an expansion in code one. CB have done a great job.

@@the_infinitygamer yeah but (points at assembled Starmada half painted) ... I got distracted. Hey would love to know your thoughts on the Starmada box set now you have it and have played with the force.
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
Hahaha I’m halfway through my set too. Just finished a Crusher now onto Kappas. I must admit I only use the Lawkeeper from the set and then the Bronze as a Raptor proxy. Love the bluecoat model though. Which do you like the look of? Which will you play?
@bbtdltd80814 жыл бұрын
@@the_infinitygamer bluecoat is my favorite followed by the shotgun crusher, currently painting the bike (a first) Im picturing Starmada as other factions unable to influence 012 greatly (like nomads or Arianda) would see them - rich flashy totalitarians with all the toys telling you what you can and cant do with rules from light years away. I think the blue coat has that 'Hugo Boss' look - im going to play the full box as its my only 012 .. mostly its satisfying my space itch till Kosmofloat gets here.
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
That’s true but you can proxy pretty much everything - the AD Crusher is a good Delta proxy. The only downside is missing an S5 to proxy gamma. I do love the Starmada set it was a great one to get! Very hard to proxy the bike and it’s an essential unit I think.

Hello. Thanks for the video. Very informative. A couple of my friends are long term players and play N4. My brother and I are just starting out and trying to decide if we start with code one or go straight into N4. One question though. Where did you get the slide (8.42) with details of which units can be in a fireteam. This would be a really handy reference.
@the_infinitygamer2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Definitely start with Code One as you learn roughly 70% of the rules for N4 in Code One. Then when you play N4 you’ll know most of the basics. That slide is available on the Corvus Belli website under sectorial charts. You don’t need them for Code One 😃

Finally I'm really starting to get in to Infiniti but for me what I would really like is a tutorial like a batrep for every faction that's easy to see and follow the tactics and strategy and thoughts of the players as they're making the move.... in other words they're trying to teach so it would be nice to hear both players opinions as each move unfolds. I'm starting out with Tak Aleph and Shasvastii. Let's go!
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
Oh wow those re two cool factions to start with! I’ve tried shasvastii and it’s too complex for me 😂
@MajorBorris4 жыл бұрын
@@the_infinitygamer I've heard that people think they're not a great faction to start with but after I looked at it the profiles pretty much it was all camouflage stuff so ariadna and shasvastii play similarly. So it just kind of came down to remembering the -3 and +3s but ya it all adds up to more things to remember. With that said you know the rules a lot better than I do lol As a side note I found ariadna looked better after painting, it took me about 6-8 hours to make them look nice and 2 hours for a quick paint... the difference I found in my painting skills/patience after about the 11th or 12th model was striking. On the other hand when I put them on the table I couldn't see 6 hours difference but if I really looked at them the 2 hour paint jobs looks like a kid painted them. I never thought I would enjoy the painting part of the hobby so much and was really the thing that held me back at first from purchasing(fear of 100s of $ worth of child painted minis lol).... just added a 2.25 magnification daylight Spectrum lamp, omg what a game changer! Cheers
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
I’m looking at lamps so that’s a great hint thank you! I get what you mean, O12 has plenty of mimetism so while it lacks the camo the modifiers are very handy. Ariadna scares me because I had an antipode pack race up the board and chow down half my army 😂 Painting is my favourite part of the hobby. But I have the same experience as you. Spend 6 hours on a model, think I’m the next Angel Giraldez then see it on the table and it’s worse than my opponent’s speed-painted stuff 😂😂
@MajorBorris4 жыл бұрын
@@the_infinitygamer when considering lamps I had to choose between a desk lamp and a swing arm with about a $25 difference. The swingarm is bigger than I expected but easier to adjust and sturdier/connected. The focal length for the 2.25 magnification works very well but the quality of the lighting is just as important. I got the Lightview Pro for $65. I really wanted to spend about 25 dollars LOL. In the end I may be glad I have the swing arm but the desktop base may look more normal in a home where the swing arm looks like a dedicated workstation. Edit▪︎ Actually the focal length is a little shorter than the guy said in the review, he said it was 8 in but it's more like four or five so the paint brushes bump into the lens if you point them straight but I don't paint that way I guess so it doesn't matter. But the light is very good. Additionally I purchased another magnification lamp on accident that said it was 5x magnification and 8w vs the lightview pro 9w but in reality it was less magnification then the 2.25 magnification and much less light. At any rate the model under the Optics looks about 25% bigger on 2.25 5X Magnifying Lamp, 2 in 1 Clamp Table & Desk Lamp Energy Saving 100 LED Ultra Bright Daylight Light, Adjustable Swivel Arm Magnifier lamp for Reading, Hobbies, Crafts, Workbench- Black - Walmart.com - Walmart.com www.walmart.com/ip/5X-Magnifying-Lamp-2-1-Clamp-Table-Desk-Lamp-Energy-Saving-100-LED-Ultra-Bright-Daylight-Light-Adjustable-Swivel-Arm-Magnifier-lamp-Reading-Hobbies-C/667147944 Brightech LightView PRO - Comfortable LED Magnifying Glass Desk Lamp for Close Work - Bright 2.25x Magnifier Lighted Lens - Puzzle, Craft & Reading Light for Table Top Tasks - Black - - Amazon.com www.amazon.com/Brightech-LightView-PRO-Magnifying-Magnification/dp/B016LTTS8S

A small part of me was saddened that QK didn't quite make the initial cut, but it will be back come November 27th... Of course, they've gotten me hooked on that new Shakush and the other Hassassin Bahram new stuff... I suspect it will all depend on how things go with the changes to the Hafza and Azra'il. I really do like that they've put in a good effort in making it easier to transition between the two, or just alternate between one and the other, as the basics are so similar. I playfully still wish that Code One had Haqq and Ariadna though, then I'd have half the models to paint! :P

I couldn’t agree more. The big thing that put me off Infinity originally was how difficult it was to self-learn the full game from the box set rules. Now it’s easier because the rules are better written and there’s CodeOne to bridge the gap.
@arrik14 жыл бұрын
@@the_infinitygamer I don't think there is anything in Code One that is changed when you move into N4. It's deliberately written to be easier to learn from this time around. Success is open to debate. ;) What Code One does it give you a solid set of things to learn and when you're done you've won. It's not until N4 when you realize there's much more. Makes it less daunting.

I couldn’t recall anything that changes from C1 to N4, which is why it’s such a good learning tool for N4. There must be something different though - Surry I missed something.
