Great video as usual... Now what I hope to get are short battle report with less narrative and more strategical focus... For example underline the link between list building - mission - deployment. I choose this trooper as ARO models to control this sector of the table... I use this as defensive offensive... Etc. I think your way to do video are perfect to explain the concept linked to this game

Thank you! I agree I do mean to get deeper into strategy and list building so will do my best in future videos!!

Another great vid. Between the rulebook and your videos, I'm getting this game. (You seemed a little rushed on this one.) Two thumbs up!!

You’re far too observant! I was trying to liven up the pace as I think I drone on a bit in some videos 😬 but I’ll even that out a bit more next time. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and I’m glad these are helping!!

I have the PanOceania Collection pack, and the Military Orders pack. Is there anything that works in Code from military orders?
@the_infinitygamer2 жыл бұрын
Knight of Justice and Infirmer are the direct crossovers but you can proxy anything you like. It’s only the Knight of the Holy Sepulchre and Knight of Montessa that don’t really have a place even as a proxy.

Thanks for the vid! Any chance of a similar vid for newbies going from Code One to N4?

Might replace my planned video with that to keep the theme going. Now to decide on the 10 biggest changes 😂

@@the_infinitygamer Big thank you! Much appreciated! No need to interrupt your planned vid though (still have a bunch of assembly and painting to get through before being ready for an N4 game).

It’s a good follow-up, a natural sequel. The next one was just lore timeline update for N4 anyway so that’s not going anywhere.

So at around 11.40 why does the Nox ARO Reset to the Idle short action? Shouldn't he ARO vs the actual hack?
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
Because the order resolution is that the active player declares their first short skill, triggering AROs. The reactive player declares AROs then the active player declares their second short skill. There’s actually no guarantee that the active player’s second short skill will be a hack attack. This can be a good way for a good active player to make the reactive player commit to an ARO that they can get around with their second short skill. For example in this case if the NOX AROs with a reset and the active player had line of Fire they might choose to shoot with their second short skill. Or they might move as they aren’t facing an attack.

ok i have a question from this video. during the video you mentions how you could doge a hacking attack and move the dodge and then get effected by the program, in the ARO example vs 2 models why would you then not roll the PH for the dodge vs the Hacking? or can you not dodge multiple ARO's?
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
That’s an excellent question!! You only dodge once so the Caliban would roll their dodge against the hack but leave it on the table to face the shot. Because the dodge doesn’t impact the hack in any way it makes more sense to roll against the shot rather than the hack. You dodge once against everything. Makes sense to do that against the thing you can actually dodge 😄 I had exactly the same discussion with a more senior player
@starrius4 жыл бұрын
@@the_infinitygamer how would dodge work vs multiple AROs then?
@the_infinitygamer4 жыл бұрын
You roll one dodge and compare that to each of the AROs

Normal can’t come soon enough! It’s so much easier to learn when you can put models on the table 😄

If an Engineer is the affected model of a hacking program, can they clear it under the same restrictions as they would when resetting someone else, or does it not matter that they are an engineer if they're the one being affected? Also, if Reset is not declared as an ARO against a Hack attack, does the Hack become a Normal roll rather than face-to-face? I'm unclear on the difference between the target declaring a Reset or doing something else (or nothing).
@the_infinitygamer3 жыл бұрын
1- during the attack they would have to reset because they can only heal themselves once the attack is resolved and the effects have taken place. If, after the hacking programme has taken effect, they’re still able to spend an order to heal themselves then they could. Spotlight is a prime example where the affected engineer could choose to reset out of the effect or heal themselves. There’s no real difference in that example because both use a single WIP roll. For something like being immobilised they wouldn’t be able to heal themselves because the state says you can only perform a dodge/reset (depending on which immobilised state you’re in) as a short skill or ARO. 2 - you’re correct. A reset versus a hack is exactly the same as a dodge vs a shooting attack. It’s a hacking-specific dodge 😜. If you choose reset and your opponent shoot or CC attack you they’re two normal rolls. Likewise if you chose to dodge and your opponent hacks you they are normal rolls too.
