Nice Dave! Great lesson! Not only are you teaching licks, but also the proper techniques to allow your watchers to step outside the lick to apply to their own styles! Some of my favorite bendy solos would be 'Firehouse' by KISS (early Ace) Renegade by Styx (Tommy Shaw). Other cool bendy stuff would be Vivian Campbell bending double stops or triads. Love you videos, bro!

I’ve been a finger style guitaris for almost 50 years now. I’ve always played instrumental pieces. I do Beatle songs, like a June long, winding road here comes the Sun more of a mellow or rock sound. But I took a dive and a stairway to heaven and learn how to play the lead solo and that song, and there are a significant amount of bands in it also doing hotel California by the eagles instrumentally the solo has a lot of bins in it all the years of playing I’m starting to finally get into this . I just need to get a little bit better at it so I’m watching your video and I’m already beginning to learn a lot. I read music. I don’t play it by ear at all. I was encouraged to do that by two professional musicians, and I did what they told me. and now I’m getting more into rock just doing it in a Fingerstyle manner. Thanks for the video. I’ll be watching more of you appreciate it.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😁🎸🎼🎶🎵☮️❤️

Someone once told me when I was learning to play that I played like Gary Moore. Not that I was as good, or ever would be, just that my bending and vibrato were like him. I’d never heard of him at the time, so I got the Still Got The Blues album and Gary immediately became, and continues to be, my favorite player.

@@derekclacton I never had the opportunity to see him live, which I regret. Same for SRV. That just means they need to be tougher, and this is going to do it, too. Keep up the good work. Soon you will have pebbles for fingertips. I used to have them, but don't play anywhere near that much anymore. Makes playing in general much easier, and makes a big difference in tone too. It's a major part of how the sound is in our hands.

Nice lesson, string bending seems to have really peaked in the 1960s and 1970s when the British Invasion bands were trying to imitate the blues players. When I first started playing guitar, everyone would learn the "Iron Man" main theme riff, but later, I started to look at Tony Iommi's solo, and he had some whole step and minor third bends that were really expressive. Also, the solo for Steely Dan's "Reelin' in the Years" had some great bends, and the outro to Eagles "Hotel California."

...next Lick is from the MIGHTY STEVE LUKATHER..... A-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y right! I love Luke. But funny enough, as challenging as his Solo's are, I am much more obsessed by his rhythm works. But for everyone who's interested in a very well crafted Solo from Luke here is a hint: go to Randy Goodrum´s KZbin-Channel and listen to his Song "I took a chance". I love when a high caliber player, like Lukather, is allowed to unleash his firepower...And by the way, there's a lot of bending to examine...really good bending, damned I wish I can do that - but I afraid that after all these years I am still sounding like -...me. Fine Video here, David. It was a lot of fun watching you, hearing what you play and listen to your explanations. Thumbs up!

Modern rock and metal players don’t bend enough in my opinion they can play all the notes at a billion miles an hour but stop and put some stank on it every once and a while. You can tell all these old players by their bending and vibrato alone and I just don’t hear it in modern pitch corrected stuff
