This video is well timed. Many of us are looking towards nest year and we can be on the look out for these things at stores this spring and summer. Michaels is selling those scrapbook containers for 3 for the price of one right now! Picked up three of them for about $3.50 today.

I love all these ideas and will definitely reference this when I have a classroom of my own. I have seen while observing by junior year of college that a primary school was using clothes pins for each student's lunch id numbers (especially in the K-2 grade band). Students get the clothes pin with their numbers before lunch and are able to reference them when in the lunch line. It reduces the time and helps them to memorize their numbers quicker.

Also you could use shoe racks for cell phones just check in with your admin before. My cooperating teacher used them when I student taught but since then I haven't been allowed to because different schools have different policies so you have to remind student to put them away during class. Or at least I do when I teach but they can have them out for the last 5 minutes of class.

You have some awesome ideas. I use plastic bins for a few things. I use them to keep crayons and color pencils in. I don't keep them in the box anymore. I just take them out of the box and students can get two or three at a time . I also use them to hold glue sticks and highlighters. I use laever baskets to collect work to e graded and to hold class sets of novels I check out from the media center.

Sadly, this is my problem!! I have no place to lock things up. My kids steal everything that isn't locked up or taken at the end of the day. Pencils, expo markers, paper clips.
@neemarina927 жыл бұрын
Mia Tome Same problem here ahah everything has to be locked
@mus1ontel1genc1a7 жыл бұрын
simplylite It IS frustrating when theft happens! But when, as can often be done when dealing with other behavior issues, if you can "outlast" the misbehavior, you can prevail. This means you may have to allow the class to "suffer" a little discomfort that comes from a lack of supplies for a while and make believers out of them that you won't replace the items that are missing until the theft stops. When the thief/thieves see to consequence of their actions, it may tease out who is the culprit. If nothing else, the class can be reminded that there are children IN SCHOOLS in 3rd world countries who must share school supplies because there's not enough to go around.
