This might not be a "hidden" detail, but I always liked the fact that Raven Beak did his own parry when Samus tried to melee attack him herself. Really adds to the consistency of the world building.

After you defeat Kraid, one of his spikes is left behind. However, after the x are released, the spike disappears. An x must have taken the DNA of the spike. This x was the one that infected Raven Beak, causing him to have a bunch of Kraid’s body parts.

I guess Mercury Steam took inspiration from the long vertical tube in Maridia when making that very long elevator on ZDR. Too bad you can’t actually use that elevator, like once you return to the surface you somehow reactivate the elevator and have a fast way to travel from the surface to underground during your final item sweep of the planet.

ya missed the detail of the first room elevator being the face of a chozo, in this case raven beak, before you encounter him, the face is clean. and by the time your fight is over, and see samus give raven beak a crack in his helmet. the statues face becomes cracked in the same location

Also fun thematical stuff: He shot the elevator himself. His actions of not blowing up SR388 when the Thoha planned for it snowballed into this. He sent the X Parasite clip to get Samus to ZDR, he went to confront her and he attacked her first He absolutely brought his destruction upon himself. All his doing (Because of course, none other than thee mighty Raven Beak could bring down Raven Beak. It's the law)

I noticed the Thermal Generator myself (3 playthroughs will do that) but not ONCE did I notice the missile actually changes in Samus' cannon depending on what type you have :P

I genuinely wish they'd thought of a shinespark vs shinespark animation during the final fight, it could've been a cool way to get some extra damage on Raven Beak by having samus clash with him, but because of his superior armor he'd just knock samus away, where she'd then jump onto a wall and then shinespark over him, getting behind him and unloading missiles/charge shots into him

Well, your animation idea wouldn't work within the "rules" of the shinespark. Nowhere in the game can Samus activate a second shinespark after directly activating one first, save for when she shinesparks onto 45° angle slopes. She'd lose the shinespark as soon as she crashes into Raven Beak. Now, if she phase shifts over him, that'd be more consistent.

Heres a fun fact, whenever you get a beam upgrade minus the charge and wide beam upgrades, the arm cannon color changes from yellow/orange to green to purple.

Something I never took into account was the design of the Ply enemies in the hot areas of the game, namely Artaria and Cateris. They’re actually cycloptic with a stinger at the end of their tail. I don’t think I ever noticed that my first time since I thought they were just the cute blue things with six wings that just tried to sting Samus. But now that I know what they look like, I don’t think I can call those things cute now that they just have this giant eyeball for a face.

I'd have been so cool to actually play the path leading up to the elevator and then entering it when Samus first arrives on ZDR, so that it would be a recognizable place later when finally getting there.

It would certainly give the player a bit of a standard and familiar way of starting their game, and would be a nice little 'I remember being here' kinda bit, making a player recognize the landscape somewhat as they're climbing up in a hurry But at the same time, would it have been too derivative from what you were to have at the actual start of the game? Prime let you do a bit more than just walk around. This might be a bit too little so to speak But I do admit, I wouldn't mind seeing more because the game is just, amazing. Also a littttle glimpse at AI Adam communicating with her throughout the suit itself. We can see/hear it in the elevator - or then it's right before the elevator and we're just hearing it at a conveniently later time, which means it could have been in the ship itself too But hey. Would have been interesting - but it might have derived from actual gameplay a lot, and give people flashbacks to a certain game, hoping to not be handheld and forced to listen to orders (I'm talking about the Other Adam, would you like to authorize this bad flashback?)

There is something I didn't know about the weird crystal-like creature you can meet in Burenia, the one that shoots an energy beam straight down from the ceiling as it approaches you. You can actually grapple it when it still has its blue point to break the armor.

My theory for the Chozo mech is that Samus was originally intended to use it against the last boss, but the content was cut for time, technical, or budget reasons. The elevator to Itorash looks suspiciously like a helmet, so I think it was a repurposed asset from this original plan.

In the E.M.M.I. zone in Artaria, there is a mech that looks like the Aurora Unit from Metroid Prime 3. Maybe the Aurora Unit was created by Mawkin?

It is such a shame that the incredible cohesion of this world breaks down with very frequent and long loading sequences. It kind of made me disconect each section mentally from each other, despite them being very well thought out and designed to mix well with each other. Hopefully this game gets ported to future consoles and we can have a much more seemless experience.

I suppose the Chozo Mech was being worked on as the "Plan B" following the extermination of all the Metroids... but can be excused by the fact that all the Mawkin were infected by the X so the construction was stopped. I suppose that's what Ashkar Behek had in mind until the E.M.M.I. arrived on ZDR and eventually learned about Samus' DNA. Or maybe it's just another way to show how some villains can be narcissist much like Bowser, Robotnik... Ridley can be included as well. Sure he got his robot, but it wasn't a great boss battle. Also some references with his image can be found across the Ancient Ruins of Norfair so I'm sure Ashkar Behek had a plan for having a massive statue of himself somewhere in Ferenia eventually. And yes, I say Ashkar Behek as in Raven Beak in Chozo.

Many people can see that both Samus and raven beak are dodging and countering each other's attacks, often one of them getting hit frequently, although raven beak has a very high I.Q and very strong physical body, when he grabs Samus, it will be life-threatening to him.

Hey not sure if you covered this already, but I noticed that when you hold down the grapple beam button when stepping on a save station, the beam will stay blue even if you take your finger off the trigger (it returns back to normal if you don’t keep holding after the saving animation)

Actually EMMIs do 100 000 damage to foes, from what we can see in the game files, so it should one shot every monster (also EMMIs can be instakilled if they are caught in an Iceflea explosion, even with their mask)

I know that because I developed an Hypermode mod for the game and I made enemies spawn in EMMI zones while they are active. The Iceflea thing is an issue I encountered

This game has so much more amazing stuff, attention to detail, and secrets than that garbage multiplayer indie that beat it in the rigged Game Awards 2021! I hope that someday Metroid strikes back, in that in a future Game Awards, a later Metroid title crushes a sequel to It Takes Two if there is one. Metroid deserves to have some justice after the series' latest entry was robbed!
