The trick to moving to lower cost countries is to have an American paycheck coming in each month. Whether it’s a remote job, or retirement income, or social security checks or rental investment money, you need an American income coming in. I do not recommend moving to a foreign country to seek work there. That is an amateur move that never turns out well and you will find yourself begging for money from friends and family back in the USA. Even starting a business in that foreign country is feasible but make sure you have a full year of savings to live on while you get the business going.
@KellyKels23
@KellyKels23 23 күн бұрын
@HoneyBunches100 and it's hard find a fully remote job if you don't have a career in IT, engineering, consulting etc. I work remote, but it only allows me to work in the US like many other positions. I've been looking for something else all year with no luck.

@@Kamase318 There are many countries that are more affordable even with the currency exchange. When you go from US rents of 1,200, 1,500 up to 2,500 and more to other countries were the rent is 350-500 for a one bedroom and many places are furnished, some offering utilities, it's doable. You can do an exploration visit by renting Airbnb monthly in different locations. I did that usually paying 450 a month in MX and Europe and everything is included, furnishings, utilities, wifi. In several locations the Airbnb owners asked if I wanted to stay permanently on a month to month basis. They prefer a good tenant vs weekly turn overs.

@digwealth740 ...🤣😂...Noooo! Ghana can be quite affordable! However, you do need a stream of income, good planning/budgeting to make that money stretch, and just like any other city or metropolitan area.. It be cheaper the further you live from the city central.. Once housing is secure, you can easily live off of 800/1000 USD..I live an hour outside of Accra in Winneba..a coastal community.. If you plan on visiting the dungeons, you will pass through Winneba..and you will be 10 minutes from my home..I would love for you to stop by for a little chat and visit..I plan on being in the States for the holidays..December 4 to February 3.. @@digwealth740 I scouted Jamaica but the places I wanted to live were just too expensive. The condo was $1.3k-$2k USD, my groceries were through the roof because everything was imported, electricity bills were nuts, transportation was not cheap. All in I calculated that I would need about $3k-$4k to live a basic western life. You can have the same lifestyle in other middle income countries for ~$2k.

Mountain-wise, I just spent a week San Miguel de Allende and loved it too. I understand it’s more expensive than other smaller towns, but if you’re into history, culture, food, and the arts, it definitely is worth checking out. There is a core of Black women living there already, including Chef Jackie and the owner of CasaELM, who’s been one of Roshida’s guests. Hope this is helpful! @@ToneKeys I can't speak to the intricacies of the cartels and the government ... I can say that for where I was in Mexico City -- Condesa and environs and El Centro -- I didn't have a sense of cartels or of being at risk. If you haven't visited, I would encourage you to do so and form your own opinion. By comparison, I know there are people who are scared to come to the USA when they hear about all the shootings at schools, grocery stores, churches, concerts, movie theaters, etc. The assumption would be that everyone is always at risk everywhere here, but that's not the day-to-day experience of being in the USA for most people.
