Wilt out-rebounding B. Russell 55 to 19 is impressive, but let's not ignore the fact that the latter's defense (committing only 1 foul) made the former shoot an atrocious 15/42 fg in that game. Which provided more rebounding opportunities.

When Wilt played (most of his seasons), the NBA did not track blocked shots. Many journalists who watched Wilt believe Wilt easily averaged over 10 blocks a game, many games getting over 20 but they were unofficial. I'm glad this included the Scott Skiles 30 assist game, but where is Kevin Love's 31 point 31 rebound game? Yeah maybe a little overshadowed on this list by the first one but that was Wilt.

Other than being able to create an entire list for Wilt, the uploader must really like Robinson. His was perhaps the least impressive quadruple double, and Alvin Robertson's one with steals is the most unique. Hakeem was very close to get two within 3 weeks (the league took an assist from him the first time leaving him with 9), and had a 6x5 game that could have been here too.

That was for individual players. I would like to see a similar list for team efforts. For example, has there ever been a game where 2 or more players scored 50 points or a triple double in the same game, either for the same team or different teams?
@KD555
@KD555 2 жыл бұрын
Different teams a few times, including the triple-OT game in which Wilt recorded 78-43 vs Baylor's 63-31, Lakers beat Philly 151-147. Same team - never happened. Closest is 51 and 47 by Denver's Vandeweghe and English, also losing in triple OT to Detroit, in the NBA's highest scoring game ever, 184-186.

Not a big fan of SNL these days but back in the day they did a hilarious skit about Wilt's team mates in the game he scored 100 points. "Hey, ah Wilt, I'm open over here", another team mate "I'm open buddy, you can pass the ball, you are allowed to do that", etc, etc. I had never thought about what everyone else on the team was thinking, only about his amazing achievement but I bet they were thinking very similar to what the skit showed. No one ever asks team mates what they think of these kinds of things. 😂
