In the world of sports, there has always been a fascination with records. Breaking a record and pushing the limit of what’s possible has always been a trademark of human race, from Roger Bannister’s 4-minute mile, to Usain Bolt’s 9.58, and Michael Phelps’ 8 gold medals at one Olympics.
Records are there to be broken, however, there are those records that stand the test of time and seem to be unbreakable, and here are 15 of the NBA’s most unbreakable records

Great coach when you don't really have to do anything. 79 wins and 3-1 lead and you can't close the deal? That's on the coach. He doesn't make adjustments. Just jack up 3's. If they aren't going in they lose. Because he doesn't have a clue on what to do. Bill Russell was his only competition there, and holds the record for most rebounds in a PLAYOFF game (with Wilt a close second). 19 of the 20 top rebounding seasons are named "Wilt" or "Bill", with Nate Thurmond sneaking in at about 17'th for ONE season - and if you go Top 30 rebounding seasons, WIlt and Bill put EVERY season of their careers on THAT list.

@MAN UTD Has nothing to do with this video, and soccer is unlikely to improve in popularity in the USA AT ALL in the future here - it has ZERO chance of being "the number 1 sport in the USA" ever. I don't know of ANY grade middle or high school that has a soccer program (I suspect there might be a few SOMEWHERE), it's NOT a sport with noticeable AAU interest, and the fan base in the USA almost does not exist. There is a REASON every "professional" level soccer league that has been started in the USA has DIED in less than 5 years - LACK OF INTEREST and LACK OF PEOPLE THAT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SPORT.

Blocked shots were not an "official" NBA stat until 1974. However, many teams kept track as an "internal" stat. In the 150-odd games Wilt played where the team counted blocks, he averaged 8.8 BPG. In 1973, "Grandpa" Wilt blocked 26 shots in a game where he knew the NBA was keeping track in preparation of making it official.

Wilt as the best individual player ever and the stats prove it. Russell as the greatest leader ever and his 11 rings in 13 years prove that point too!

It is certainly more difficult today. In Oscar's era there were considerably more shots taken, rebounds to be had and points scored. Having said that, that season where Westbrook had a season triple double was painful to watch, so much stat stuffing going on, dudes not grabbing rebounds so that Westbrook gets his. Bollocks to that. This crap only happens with bad teams.

When it comes to talking about the GOAT, there will always be 2 categories: Wilt and everyone else. Even the other players who are always in that conversation (of any era) admit that what Wilt accomplished was almost mythical. Watch a good documentary on Wilt (one that gives you his stats and physical abilities) and you will have to pick your jaw up off the floor. He is also the ultimate "physical freak of nature". His speed, strength and vertical jumping ability make him a man amongst boys.

4:20 -- only a few bench players had to work in the offseason to make it. The median salary of the NBA player was 3X the national average for a laborer at the time in the 60's. They were well compensated. I believer Bill Russell would be like Dwight Howard in more modern times. Howard has a similar game to Russells' -- good rebounding and timely baskets.

The 85-86 Boston Celtics home record (including playoffs) was 50-1. The next closest were the 2015-16 Spurs at 43-3 (who couldn't make it out of the divisional round), the heartbreaker 2015-16 GS Warriors at 48-4, the 95-96 Bulls at 49-4, and the 96-97 Bulls at 49-3. 2:48 WIlt averaged only a couple minutes less per game for his entire CAREER - there was a lot more to the "50.4 point season" than minutes played, as it was COMMON for starters to pull 40+ in that era and Bill Russell in particular averaged very close to the same minutes per game as Wilt (less than 1 minute per game diff over their respective careers). What people miss about Wilt Chamberlain scoring 50 a game in 1961. It is that he had the greatest percentage on his team for field goal attempts. will himself said if you're going to be taking all the shots, it makes sense that you would shoot the highest percentage on your team. Otherwise you're just hurting the team. I believe in the season that will averaged 50 points, he was also well over 50% on his field goal shooting.
