Thank you for posting these videos and explaining these riffs with tab, this has changed my playing so much, your tips and how you explain is perfect. You got the best channel on KZbin for riffs.

The third lick isn't actually a stevie ray vaughan inspired lick, for the fact that "Money" was created before stevie's whole career...

Great video. The biggest takeaway for me was the importance of the triplet feel . This will really help my lead playing. Thanks for the clear explanation. Excellent licks to practice with. Many thanks.

+tony rigby yeah that helped me a lot too - it's amazing what slowing down playing and focusing on timing will do for your feel

I got that too, for me, i have had a bad habit of running with the beat too precisely, and when it's time to hold back I trip over myself and end up in no man's land. This is a good demonstration of how to do it right, very clear and easy to follow

Love this ❤! Thanks for sharing your run-down, im starting to feel like ive got the hang of overlapping moves by starting slow and do it every day, this is how I build up my arsenal of licks, study quality licks listen for the difference between big name players too for variety, adopt them and make them my own. in a way it can feel like stealing but I don't make money off it so, plus its music! its guitar we have an already mapped out structure to draw from and Eric Clapton pretty much nicked a lot, same with the beatles you name it they've done it.

Great lesson, love the licks ... only thing that bothers me - in 1973 both SRV and Eric were kinda unknown .
@lsw4442 ай бұрын
That’s my takeaway from this EXCELLENT video! I appreciate if you got into SRV and Eric Johnson before Floyd you can’t help personally visualise these Gilmour licks in terms of SRV, if that’s what you were taught first, especially when talking through teaching the licks so articulately, and you wouldn’t re-film it, but technically you cannot say Gilmour is showing a Stevie Ray influence. Very good video though.

If you only practiced one lick it would be #3. Master it and you have 3/4 of the Comfortably Numb outro solo. It has all the elements, bend, pull off, bend to a pull off.

Not stevie ray Vaughan inspired. stevie wasn’t born when Gilmour was laying down this Stuff.
@lsw4442 ай бұрын
Technically he had been born of course, but just not recording. SRV ‘s bass player of course had played at Woodstock with Johnny Winter 4 years before DSOTM came out.
