Sharing my 10 days in Japan budget breakdown since so many of you all have been requesting for it 😊 I hope it’s helpful and do let me know in the comments if you have any questions 💕

I'm ecstatic if I can find $1200 return flights (AUD). If I found flights for $550 I'd probably be booking it right now!

No way you can get $550 return flights from aus, unless this is some cheap deal like Jetstar via cairns maybe?

I went last year for $585 AUD return via Scoot. If you have a voucher you can apply it for free 20kg check-in which makes it as good if not better than a Qantas flight. I found a few googling just then between $650-670 return just then as well. Sorry if the price goes up because of this 😅

@@mofo02 unfortunately not direct, had to layover via Singapore, but I think that’s where the bargain flights are. Flight plus layover was a total of 18h

Staying outside ginza and shinjuku but next to train stations can help your budget ..

Honestly as someone who is budgeting for a trip to japan next week, this just isn’t believable. For example, USD $261.50 for transportation for 2 ppl INCLUDING bullet train? It costs $260 for 2 ppl for a one way ticket from Tokyo to Osaka. No way she could have gotten away with $261 for bullet train plus bus plus regular subway.

True! I have been traveling Japan to know. Only the bullet train from and back- Tokyo- Kyoto cost around 300+ usd (depends on which train and how fast).

Hire a Filipino to make reservations for you on their phone. Prices are set by your country and income.

Australia is abit closer to Japan so will be cheaper compared to nz which is expensive to fly anywhere in world except to go Australia since we are the very bottom of the world

My flight was $2000 per person 😭 its normally $1300 but it was cherry blossom season.

I spend USD 760++ direct return trip from Malaysia to Japan on this year March. If without direct flight, is about USD 422++.

is there any miscalculation in here? With alll the costs listed, it should be at least 2000 USD, not just 1200 USD, the accommomdation and air ticket combined are already 890 USD. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation of activities to do, I would definitely check out the pet cafe!

the calculations are correct - it was a 2 person trip so they added everything and divided by two to get the final total per person price

Transport in japan cost me nothing 400 yen is like $3 max I spent on anything travel via train was 680 yen. A day. The bullet train is the most expensive. I bought 2 suites for $500. This video doesn't add up.

Her accent sounds Singaporean which is a massive layover for a lot of flights through Asia. I'd imagine it would be fairly cheap to fly to any part of Asia if you're from Asia in general.

I mean I feel a lot is usually in the flight, in japan in general, they say is usually pretty cheap (ofc because of that obviously everyone’s gonna go wild with spending there so it’s also that haha) plus she didn’t seem to take anything like classes which can be a lot if your doing more touristy English speaking ones ngl- this is just coming from me whose been binging a lot of these thanks to the algo 😭

@@hohocho8961 I agree! Food is really cheap, and as long as you avoid tourist traps and inflated tourist prices your budget will stretch further 😁 Flights and accommodation was about 80% of our overall costs

I've been in Japan once in '23, but from my experience the daily cost of living is a bit below that of Western Europe. Compared to e.g. Vietnam or China I expect this to be expensive, hence the reputation that Japan is expensive. Ofcourse, the timing with how well the exchange rates are can help a lot as well.

I don't know where you are living that you managed to find such a cheep flight. In my country, if I find a round flight to Japan at 1000usd it's a miracle. And the bullet train alone from and back Tokyo-Kyoto cost around 300$.

400 for transportation? I just came back from 20 days trip. Osaka -> Himeji -> Okayama -> Osaka -> Nara -> Himeji -> Osaka -> Nagoya -> Tokyo. Total transportation is under 200 sgd 😂😂 3 stars hotel, near station is normally 60usd 😅😅, and this is at peak season (sakura season from 26/3 to 12/4). Use chain hotel, pre-register membership to get special price and discount. Dont rent bike. Buy secondhand one, use it and then resell after that. Its much cheaper than renting. There are so many tips to reduce cost 😆😆

Wow I'm here like holy cash cow I could seriously afford a trip to Japan on one paycheck are you riding me???!!! And I'm here in the US basically running out of money paycheck to paycheck 😮😢🤦‍♀️🤯🫨😱 guess whos moving to Japan?!!
