Someone once called Elton a legend. Fuck that. They need to create a category higher than legend just for him. As a musician, writer, performer and piano player, I have been in love with him since 1971 when I first heard "Levon" on the radio.

I love how in the rock opera Tommy he comes out in his platform shoes to sing Pinball Wizard, and can barely move, the superstar!! He was expressing that feeling of being a star I think. You can't move but you keep performing and playing the role. The person disappears within the costume. Love that they had him use his own costume.
