When I hear the first notes of Un Sospiro by Franz Liszt, my heart feels like a breeze blowing across the surface of a pond forming a new expression. His piano music is so beautiful. I put him right up there with Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, John Field and Saint-Saens.

I absolutely agree with what you wrote about Un Sospiro, though I couldn't describe it as poetic and beautiful as you have. Thank you!

@@MelodiousHeart1 It’s funny you mention that because I just happen to be an author and poet activist of 1100 poems plus and 14 books of poetry published. As a matter of fact I am working on my 15th one right now and so far I have over 113 poems for it. Also I was a music student in college studying to be a tenor but after 6 1/2 years of training I opted to become a poet instead. I have always loved classical music since I was a kid and piano music especially.

@@charlesyork14 Hello Charles, I am sorry for the super-late reply. I thought I replied to this comment, but I just saw that I didn't. I am very impressed with your achievement as a poet! I used to read a lot of poetry, though in recent years, I tend to read other types of books.

Wow Charles I never knew I was talking to a man who puplishied so many books and poems!! I have to say your a fine author!! I always wanted to be a writer my self, im 13 years old and wrote my own chapter books when I was 12, so I guess I lost intrest. I was lonely and unhappy that time, so I did not get inuff motivation and support so I gave up.

Nice list! :) And there are so many obscure pieces from Liszt that remain unexplored, but are just as beautiful as the more known ones.. Liszt's Quand je dors is a great example of that (/watch?v=lErYKDetSPU)... other Liszt pieces I think you'd love are: *Faribolo pasteur, Ave Maria, Sarabande und Chaconne, La Romanesca, Canzone Napolitana, Lyubila ya, Il m'aimait tant!, Nocturne impromptu, Nuits d'été à Pausilippe, Andante Molto Espressivo (from Fleurs Melodiques des Alpes), Liszt/Dessauer Lockung, Die Zelle in Nonnenworth, Ballade Ukraine, Complainte, Wiegenlied* Auf dem Wasser zu singen, Der Mueller und der Bach (Volodos plays this beautifully), Des Maiden's Klage, Standchen, Angiolin dal biondo crin.... all of them are wonderful.
