...the one thing I noticed about bands, long ago, when I was working as a stage manager in a rock n' roll club... ...consistently, out of all members of a rock n' roll band... ...drummers get laid... ...(sure, the crowd adores the front man/vocalist, the crowd will also appreciate the guitarists, but in terms of of animal magnetism, when some groupie wants an absolute "cave-man" vibe to her after-show tryst, she'll go for the drummer and his steady, rythimic beat)... ... there's a song from the 1960s called "The Game of Love" by Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders... ...it has a drum line with a compelling beat that demonstrates my point...

I'm so glad my teacher forced paradiddles down my throat every lesson, every practice, every rudiment became easier after. half an hour of non stop paradiddles at different speeds and if I wasn't in perfect sync with him we would start all over again. being 22 minutes into a paradiddle marathon only to fuck up was heart breaking for a while.

I know rudiments and exercises like this can seem boring and pointless, but it will drastically improve your timing, your fills, and your overall playing. Also try doing these with a metronome, and slowly upping the BPM as you feel more confident. Keep on jamming!

for the flam, the stick that's in charge of the grace note should stay down near the head. on your third flam, the grace note stick was almost as high as your other stick.

Im a bit late to this but the time signature for witchcraft (for the verse at least) starts with a bar of 5/4, then 2 bars of 4/4, then a bar of 9/8 for the guitar and vocals only, the drums come in with a 7/16 beat, and for the instumental parts they switch between 7/8 and 5/8

all instruments are easy with enough practice but yeah I would say its a bit more simple than some wind instruments just because you dont really have to train lungs and whatnot but idk about easier per say

So my favourite Rudiments are Single stroke, Double stroke, Flam and the Drag. I know it's easy but for me as a Drummer to play the Rudiments is it cool and the Sound that switch is like funny.
