what shoes do you use? i started skating around two moths ago, you are so inspiring, keep doing this type of videos.
@NeverStopImprovingSB6 жыл бұрын
Those are the Nike SB Dunk Highs! My second favorite shoe of all time, second to the Adio Kenny Anderson V2 which is no longer in production :( They're designed like basketball shoes, so they have a good amount of padding and provide really good stability (near impossible to roll your ankle in these shoes). Drawbacks for some people: they're heavy and lack board-feel. I'm so glad you picked up skateboarding! You're going to have a blast :) I will keep making videos like this (in fact, I'm working on one right now that is quite similar and it will be my next upload!) Peace out!

Manuals are actually hard asf why are they on this list
@elDragonos5 жыл бұрын
Maybe because it's the most important thing for a beginner to first learn how to balance, to feel deck better. Training manuals is the way to feel more confident on a skateboard.

I'm noticing so many new skaters are obsessed with learning the ollie as their first trick. Some even want to get into skateboarding just so that they can ollie. Always good to learn some basic tricks first. When I first started skating in the mid 1980s, I wasn't even aware of the ollie. I started skating because it looked like fun, not to obsess over learning a particular trick. Ollies came later.

For anyone who sees this and can’t Ollie here’s some tips: first, don’t practice on concrete first. Find something that slows you down on landing but can still roll if you actively push the board. This will give you a better landing but still a semi-natural landing. I would recommend cutting open tennis balls and putting them on your wheels. Skater trainers are OK also but it makes you come to a dead stop, so wouldn’t really recommend. Also, be comfortable riding on your board. Board control is key. Then be able to jump on your board with a good landing. Then transition to the Ollie position and be able to jump from there. If you’re having trouble with sliding your foot up, first just jump with your front foot up first, then transition to a slide. Once you get it down then transition to concrete, then to rolling. Hope this helps! Edit: also practice popping your tail, it will give your back wheel a little more encouraging (is that the right word?) to get air

These are really cool, I'm going to start practicing these. My nephew is always wanting me to take him to the skate park so we can learn but he won't skateboard unless I am too. But I'm 26 and just starting out and it's so embarrassing! There are all these other adults who are really good and they skate all around and I don't know where we can practice without getting in their way. I keep telling him maybe I should get better by practicing elsewhere first -- our skateparks aren't as spacious as the one you filmed at and everyone seems to utilize every part of it. Probably parking lots and curbs would be better until I know what I'm doing. Idk, just gotta start riding more I guess

@@whiteout475 with a strawberry milkshake you'd be standing perpendicular to your board, not parallel, and your back foot would be at the tail while your front foot would be on the other side of the board. but the motion's similar, just a slight difference in back foot position cause it'd be flat along the board instead of at 90 degrees like in a wraparound.
