The egg fried in the hole of a slice of bread and butter was one of the first things I ever cooked on the stove when I was a kid. It was a quick breakfast before going to school (both parents worked mornings so my breakfasts were mostly cold cereals). One variation was to make French toast with a hole in it and fry it with the egg. Then pour on the syrup or slather it with jelly! Good times and good eats!

These tricks are fantastic! The following are not criticisms, but honest questions: 1) I see you putting edged metal into non-stick pans. I thought that would wreck the coating. Is there something special about those molds, or am I just mistaken? 2) Isn't it bad to cook food in cling wrap? I thought toxins would leach out of the plastic into the food at anything approaching boiling temperatures.
@pbradley35295 жыл бұрын
you are correct to be questioning both practices as they are each unsafe.
@brigettebrinton48875 жыл бұрын
Re: metal - if you don't slide the metal around in the pan you won't scratch the coating. Metal utensils are much more problematic than these molds. Re: plastic clingwrap.... o_O Please don't. Just use a different way to make poached eggs. There are many.
