Eric Campeau thanks Eric. I certainly enjoy my movie collection but am also interested in board games so I mixed a bit of that into the mix. You’ll see movie stuff on this channel far more often now.

Dean, I think some of Orson Welles's films have sort of been resurrected in terms of final cuts such as Touch of Evil where editor Walter Murch, whom I have met, re edited to the original notes that Welles gave the studio. And I think it might also be the case with Othello where Criterion maybe didn't complete it totally but they did their best with what they had. I think a lot of his films have been tied up in rights issues over the years. I think his daughter's had control of his material until it was released to the public fairly recently. Or, Criterion's release of Mr. Arkadin with more than one cut. I have Criterion's Magnificent Ambersons but really haven't dived into the movie yet. I think Robert Wise and Orson Welles had a falling out due to that film because Wise re edited the film while Orson Welles was in South America.

Hey Dean! I probably should give Being There another view sometime. I also do too like Peter Sellars subtle performance in it. I really enjoy Terence Malick. Some people think he is self indulgent but I view it as being poetic or, maybe, for a lack of a better word, spiritual. However, Badlands I'm not wild about. I think his best film is The New World which I have the Criterion which has three different cuts which I haven't watched yet. I also like Knight of Cups a lot. Marlon Brando is one of my favorite actors and I have this edition of On The Waterfront but haven't watched it yet. Criterion also have 2 24 hour flash sales that they announce on their website if you subscribe to their website but they don't tell you when they will be. But, usually it's February and October, with March instead of February last year the only time I have seen them change the date.

Kubricklover1972 for me Malick’s Top 4 films are (1) Days of Heaven, (2) The Tree of Life, (3) Badlands, and (4) The Thin Red Line. It’s a personal taste thing with films, but those are my favorites.

Kubricklover1972 I love Being There. It’s such an odd film, but I love Seller’s performance in it.

@@DeanOfDVD Days of Heaven and Tree of Life would be in my top 4 as well.

I think Jack Nicholson gives a more nuanced performance in the King of Marvin Gardens showing that he doesn't always play his "Jack Nicholson" self all the time as probably can be seen in other films. Maybe Carnal Knowledge which I haven't seen in a while. I have all those Hitchcock films on Criterion editions except for the Man Who Knew too much, which I think is the first version, correct? I have it. Just not on Criterion. By the way, I'd love to see the other 4 English language Criterions you have yet to show. Also, I would like to ask you a question. One of the Facebook groups I'm on is a private group called The Film Appreciation Group. Would you mind if I posted this video on our group's Facebook page? If not, that's perfectly fine. I hope that I'm not being a bother by asking but I thought I'd run it by you to see what you think. As always, great video Dean and thanks for sharing!

Kubricklover1972 you are free to post any of my videos anywhere you’d like. I might get a few more subscribers that way. I agree with your comment on Nicholson’s performance in The King of Marvin Gardens, but I love his performance in Five Easy Pieces.

I don't have the Cassavetes box set but I do have Killing of a Chinese Bookie which I know bombed when it came out which I believe they say on the Criterion. I watched the starting but not the whole film. I love Woman Under The Influence but haven't seen it in years. Gena Rowlands performance in that was fantastic! I also saw Opening Night on Criterion Channel. I have the DVD box set of the BBS story Dean. I have mixed feelings on it I guess. It's got some great classics on it like Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, King of Marvin Gardens and the Last Picture Show but the others I find rather self indulgent such as A Safe Place, Head and Drive He Said. But, it's still interesting in showing the evolution of a production company and their influence on American cinema history.
