Honestly, while I understand that lip syncing is a deceiving practice, it' s VERY hard to be able to sing properly, if your body is moving a lot and jumping up and down. The two things are very much incompatible. I think when a singer is in a live performance situation, the singing part is not the only thing you are paying for. Depending on the type of singer or genre, ofc!

Can I point out that before they were exposed for Lip syncing, their last collaboration was the Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3, where Toadstool and Kootie Pie are both biggest fans. Um, if you're going to talk about artists destroying their careers, the very least you could is get the "destruction" correct. Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan were the ones who were "hired" to lip sync songs that were sung by studio musicians; Rob and Fab didn't hire "other vocalists" to sing. The whole project--including the "Milli Vanilli" name--was the brainchild of German producer, Frank Farian who'd come to fame as the man behind Boney M (and pulling much the same stunt--except Farian provided the male vocals for Boney M and when he needed an actual group to "perform" the songs, he used a couple of the female studio singers and hired a man to basically lip sync Farian's vocals until it turned out the guy could actually sing though he needed a bit of coaching to sound more like Farian to pull off the "con"). The blown lip sync that led to the exposure of Milli Vanilli as frauds (at least, Rob and Fab as the "singers") could've been managed if it hadn't been for the pair demanding to sing on the next MV record (as they claimed Farian had promised) and then proving to the world that their real voices were nowhere close to sounding like what had been on the records.
