I think a mention worth this list would be Jiri Prochazka vs Vadim Nemkov as they are really exciting prospects (Nemkov fighting for the title in Bellator and Prochazka recently KOed Volkan). They met in a Rizin tournament semi-finals in 2015, fought a brutal 10 minute first round with lots of back and forth and after that, Nemkov refused to go to the second round citing exhaustion. Quite an interesting move, considering what was on the line (I recall there was a rumour was that the prize money for the winner of that tournament was 500k$). Prochazka talked about this in some interviews, essentialy saying that at the end of the round, he stood up quicky, smiled intensely at Nemkov and told him something along the lines that he's looking for the second round (even though he was exhausted, but didn't want to show that). Apparently, that broke Nemkov's will and he refused to continue :D

@@jeremybrown9611 I dunno, Woodley's weakness had always been carefully applied, high volume pressure that makes him wither mid-fight (see his fights with Rory and Shields). Little story for y'all, not 100% confirmed but I believe my sources. When Brandao trained in Albuquerque at Jacksons he became close friends with a lot of people I know, he barely knew English & came straight from Brazil so he bonded with a few people here who he's still friends with (he's a wild guy). Anyway after UFC he bounced around & ended up in Russia. He did two fights with this fight nights global & got paid decent, he also won both. They call him for the 3rd fight (the one in this vid) he agrees to an even larger contract than the first 2. He shows up in Russia few days before. The night before the fight he goes to dinner with a promoter & another associate like he had the 2 previous nights, 12 hours later he wakes up confused af, vomit everywhere, not knowing how he got back to his room, completely out of it with the fight in a few hours. He got drugged at dinner & said he was still feeling the effects during the fight. After the fight he talked to the promoter & all he said was "You don't finish fight, you don't get paid". Rumor has it the guy he was fighting was a huge underdog & heavy bets were placed by a particular group for him to win. That was his last fight with that organization.

So he changed the plans and dropped the title to the puerto Rican wrestler (sorry I dont know his name) and If I'm remembering correctly the Puerto Rican wrestler forfeited the belt back to ric because the nwa champion had to make appearances all over the world and didn't want to leave his home. Now knowing the full context, massive respect for Pantangco stopping the fight to not hurt a friend/partner any further or preventing his opponent to cause himself further injuries and much respect to Rasner for standing up and enduring as much as he could during that time. Jumping in four hours after knowing you're signed to go into the octogon/ring means no conditioning, no preparation... This is more humble than absolute novices thinking they can take on professional athletes.

I cornered a young guy once. Physical specimen... first round opponent got an arm bar and Ibyelled "stack him" . He thought I said slam him and one arm, picked up his opponent and slammed him and got out. He EASILY won rd 1. Between rounds he wanted to quit and I told him no way. Rd 2 he had double undertook, clearly in charge. Looked up at the ref and said I QUIT... .... staggered out of the ring, fell and started puking everywhere.

The days of fighting 3 fights in one night were insane. They were legit warriors. Now Ur lucky if a fighter fights 3 times in one yr.

He did that because he wants his face recognized. That's the kind of reason why Tommy is better.

4:50 When your fighter tells you he can't go on, your job is not to try and convince him that he can. Your balls shouldn't be bigger than his.

Yes, but you also need to make sure he knows the consequences. A quit is going to be regarded poorly. Losing with heart can help a career. Quitting nope. However, the fighter's health is more important, and the coach shown, his fighter seemed to be just outclassed.

Suggestion: The lighting is nice but there’s no need to keep cutting to yourself. You probably don’t care but we care about the content, not your face

Very true, a lot of creators do this, and we don’t give a shit. Show content not your face. Face only matters if we’re watching for the KZbinr not the content

I went to high school and wrestled with Max Rohskopf. He was the team captain my junior year. Dude was such a dick. He was always belittling the rest of our teammates. He once chocked out a freshman during practice. This was wrestling practice in high school, there was no choke holds. I hope he has gone through some changes. Btw, you are pronouncing his name wrong

Funny story, when I first started training back in 2004, my gym hosted a seminar held by Maurice Smith. He was demonstrating a move and pointed to me as his instructional dummy. It should be noted that at the time, I was about 140 lbs, all skin and bone. He proceeded to demonstrate the mount while hooking his feet under my legs, , putting all his weight onto my torso. He cracked three of my ribs and forced a fart out of me, just with his body weight.

Max made the right call though. He made his debut and proved what he could potentially turn into later in his career. He saw the skill gap and once it was clear that he had no chance of winning he admitted defeat and took the loss like a man.
