Hey there, fight fans! Just wanted to say I have nothing but the utmost respect for everybody on this list. We determined the entries by looking at what we thought was lost potential in a fighter's career, a decline that occurred for whatever reason, focus pulled away from fighting by other projects, declining health, or an active decision to cash in on name value, we also looked at where a fighter was vs where they ended up, so I know the video title could seem a bit harsh, but it's impossible to express the complexity of the discussion in just a few words and how it relates differently to each fighter. I tried to convey in each entry my respect for these great fighters and for the complexity of why they continue to fight, and how difficult it can be to simply stop. Thanks for watching!
@gdarippa693 жыл бұрын
We understand bro You’re the 🐐 Tommy I wish you did all the videos
@CallumClarkCH3 жыл бұрын
I doubt a reply but what do you mean but no longer "caring", the first entry is about someone who secured more money for themselves by freak show fights so surely he still cared about a goal. Do you mean caring for a title? Caring for fan admiration? Caring about fighting the toughest person they can? If it's the last one then alot of fighters don't "care". I'm being a bit of an arsehole I know it's just I don't wanna see this channel become something that thrives of negative lists like WhatCulture eventually became. You guys have taught me so much about the history of MMA that I don't want the next person who learns from you all to become mired in a opinion of negativity around what a certain goal of a fighter should be.

He had the potential to be one of the best LHW's of all time IMO. He probably still may not have beaten a young picogram fuelled Jon Jones, but I reckon he could have done a hell of a lot better and not get embarrassed in the process (Machida for instance didn't get embarrassed and went out like a warrior against Jones).
@carter33693 жыл бұрын
@@madgavin7568 He’s still one of the best LHW’s of all time. Judge a fighter how good they were in their prime not at the end of their career.
@madgavin75683 жыл бұрын
@@carter3369 The problem with Rampage Jackson is that his prime is hard to figure out and for how long it lasted. 2007-08 can be said to be his absolute prime when he beat Chuck and Hendo. But a prime Rampage should not have lost to Forrest Griffin. At the same time he also avenged a loss to Wanderlei Silva in brutal fashion when everyone said he was gonna get destroyed again by Wandy. Then he lost to Rashad Evans in a fairly one-sided fight. Rampage's takedown defence in these losses became noticeably absent. Rampage was great with lots of potential, but he was inconsistent as he seemed content to work more on his boxing then round out his game and improve his wrestling. He's still a top 10 LHW, but I can't help but think what-if Rampage was consistent?

Man is a capitalist, I'm not gonna hate on him. He found a niche, because of his ridiculous stature and personality, people still wanted to see him fight, even after it was pretty well established that he was not a good fighter. But he was still a big draw. Why risk getting hurt when he can just flop the first time he gets cracked? Most fighters couldn't get away with that because you do it once, maybe twice if you're lucky, and that reputation sticks with you and your career is essentially over.
@markzuckergecko6213 жыл бұрын
I think Cro Cop broke him, mentally and physically. Before that he was vicious, he was still raw and unrefined, but he was really trying to win, he was aggressive as hell and came out trying to smack dudes heads into the front row. I think because he's so big, he thought he could just walk through strikes and nobody could hurt him, but after Cro Cop proved that theory wrong, it's like it hit him suddenly, oh damn, these dudes are really fucking dangerous. It doesn't matter how big I am, they can seriously injure me.

agree. big conor fan when he first came to the ufc and then the mayweather fight happened, there's some moment where i thought he'll be active again but money stopped him caring about mma. yes he still trains and in great shape but i don't see him winning again especially here on out he'd be fighting big/ranked names only.
