My son had a very rough pandemic at the age of like 13 to now being 15. He had just moved back from out of state and had to leave his friends and life behind, knowing no one here right into a pandemic. Being in a new home, no friends, and a new schools was hard on his mental health. He enrolled into MMA training over a year ago, for 4 days a week and it has changed HIS life. I met Matt Brown at a UDF gas station in Columbus that was across the street from me. It was early in the am and he noticed I looked at him as if “do I know this guy?” but was super cool to me when I started talking to him during checkout. I was in and out of juvie as a teen and was probably destined for jail or death. Ended up watching a ufc fight for the first time with one of my friends and it was the masvidal askren fight. I thought masvidal was a total badass so I decided to go to my local mma gym and ended up falling in love with the sport. It kept me busy and out of trouble while it also helped with my depression and anger issues. Now I’m in college with a 3.7 gpa and healthier then ever and a functional human being TLDR: was a shithead as a teen but mma gave me something to stay busy and help me
