Watching the vid and I have to say I just LOVE how you mention species that people start out with, since that can give people a good idea of what can be a good introduction into certain types of fish, followed by what a good transition from there would be, like tiger plecos being a good option for those looking for something a little more challenging than bristlenose Very great idea, especially considering one of the best things about fishkeeping is that there are so many different options depending on a person’s preferences, from cichlid tanks to community tanks to nano tanks or betta tanks. I’d say your video does a really great job of offering something for everyone 👍

Can’t wait to check this list out! Not a lot of “intermediate” fish lists out there (tooons of beginner lists of course but nothing for those looking for something a little more “next level”) so always glad to see more like that there 👍

Thanks for the great recommendations! It’s spot on because I picked up 11 Praecox Rainbows because I wanted something different than my neon tetras, but kinda the same vibe. They have been really wonderful. Your rainbow fish videos helped me decide to keep them. ❤️

I love this video. I would just like to add on to the live Bearer section. There's all the wild type live bearers also and some of those are on the endangered list I need a little help to keep them going 😊😊❤❤

You had me at Praecox! Seriously though, this advice is bang on. I've kept most of the recommended fish, and they are definitely more rewarding to keep!

I'm dead set on getting a school of praecox for my new 40 breeder, I've never actually kept a school of fish before though (just individual bettas) so I hope I do a good job of it. I hope I didn't go too intermediate too quickly
@garg45315 ай бұрын
Should be good. I see they’re fairly hardy as long as you keep the water quality good, and they aren’t picky eaters either For a shoaling fish, it’s recommended to have six as a minimum with eight or more being ideal. I think a 40 breeder is a great size for a small group of praecox, plenty of space for them to swim. One tip I recommend is to try to get more females than males (males have red fins and females have yellow) so you can enjoy their behavior to the fullest as the males perform for the attention of females

Mbuna are such a great selection of fish for sure.Plecos are now the fish i really enjoy and try and breed.Enjoyed this video great for people getting to the next level.

Yeah I’d never recommend convicts for beginners for that reason, unless you’re only keeping one

I got a free Sparkling Gourami in with the Corys I bought and I put him in the shrimp bowl as he's tiny. He's eating tiny flakes now. Should I get him a couple of friends or put him in one of my nano tanks (with Chilli Rasboras or Blue Neon Rasboras) or leave him on his own? I read that there can be aggression with them? Thanks in advance and I've subscribed

I noticed you keep Sparkling Gourami with cherry shrimp. Do you see much predation? I’ve been wanting to give SGs a go, but have read much conflicting information about the topic.

Is it OK to use Australian native Woods in your tanks? I found some old jarrah branches that are bleached with age. Ive got them soaking to remove any excess tannins.
