Becca, to make your own all purpose flour: Mill 1/2 hard wheat and 1/2 soft wheat berries as finely as possible.Then sift it through a super fine mesh flour sifter (you can buy online through all the grain mill places or even Amazon ) Save the bran you filter out to make homemade cream of wheat.

Girl, I just made my own granola last week. I asked myself the same question- why did I buy granola in the store??? Never again! I want to learn more about raw milk now. I’ll definitely give that podcast a listen.

This is something I’ve been working towards so I loved to hear your list. I also do not buy various sugars such as brown sugar or powdered sugar. It can all be made from regular cane sugar and is so nice to simplify my pantry this way.

Becca I think you’re so knowledgeable and trustworthy and genuinely just great at sharing content like this! It’s so interesting and helpful! Also random side note, I was assuming for some reason butter would be on your list! Maybe just bc it’s typically in the “milk, bread, eggs, butter” standard grocery list 😂

I’d also love what I eat in a week videos; just a quick clip of what you’re eating for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks each day of the week. Or quick last minute meals that you make when you don’t feel like cooking where some people would eat out, what do you make when you’re exhausted and short 😊on time

I have a question in regard to what you eat when you are pregnant. I’ve seen controversy on whether or not you can eat raw milk, kefir, or kombucha while pregnant. What are your thoughts? I believe all of those are so beneficial, and I’d love to have the best nutrition while pregnant, but I also don’t want to risk it if it is dangerous while pregnant! Thanks!
@christinah99543 ай бұрын
I begin having raw milk while pregnant. I had an extremely painful new autoimmune flare and had to change my diet to avoid anything processed. Having raw dairy was one way I did this. Just pick a raw milk farmer who you trust. Know their process, understand their safety procedures, find one that’s been doing it a while.

I don't buy any of these either! 🙌 Your raw milk...do you buy it with the cream on it, or has the cream been skimmed? I have a jersey milk cow, so I'm always interested in other people's experiences with raw milk. 😁
@lexieseger8202 Жыл бұрын
Our family buys raw milk - cream in. Sometimes I personally skim the cream before consuming to use in a recipe or to save for my coffee. But typically I just give the jug a little shake every time before I pour a glass to mix it all up again.
@BeccaBristow Жыл бұрын
So jealous of your milk cow!!! Someday I would love to have one. We buy it with the cream on top :) yum!

I highly recommend having chickens too - love our girls. I make my own granola every week - so easy and delicious. I've made my own yogurt, but it just doesn't come out as creamy and thick as store bought...
@BeccaBristow Жыл бұрын
I know it's never as creamy! That's the only downside. Store bought yogurt always has gums added to it which is most likely why. I wonder if adding a little guar gum at home would make a big difference!

@BeccaBristow Жыл бұрын
The pretty standard path I'd say! Went to undergrad to study nutrition then did my dietetic internship immediately after. Also jumped right into post-grad at that time too and after a few years (went to school only at night) I got my masters in nutrition education. Worked in the field (both clinical & nutrition counseling with clients) for a few years than quit to work for myself full time in 2016 :)

S we hat is your stand on being vegan? I’m not vegan but lately I have been feeling very guilty eating animals considering that they are being suffering prior to being killed I can live without beef, pork but chicken , fish , eggs and cheese is very hard to give up
@BeccaBristow Жыл бұрын
Personally would never do it for nutrition reasons. It can work for some but most people will become nutrient deficient over time. Also I very much enjoy consuming animal products and have zero desire to ever give them up lol I hear you though, and this is EXACTLY why I purchase animal products directly from farmers who are transparent about their operations & I know have humane practices.
