❤ Love my instant pot and use it so much that I have 3 of them. 😅 I make a gallon of yogurt every 2 weeks, letting it strain, turning it into greek yogurt for more protein. I just use a collander that's lined with coffee filters set into a big big bowl to strain overnight in the fridge. Then I portion it up into little mason jars-makes about twelve 6oz jars. Also for the initial yogurt starter, you can just buy a small unflavored cup of plain greek yogurt at the store and add that in. Just make sure it says live active cultures on the label. Much cheaper than the starter. 😊 Great video! 👍

Yay for making your own yogurt!! And yes I totally need to try straining one of these times to make it greek style, yum! And that's such an awesome tip about the starter thank you!!!

Great tips! I don’t have an instant pot..but I use my crock pot for bone broth & raw yogurt. The key to making cooking from scratch attainable is exactly what you explained…prepare ingredients when you DO have time to make up super quick, nutritious meals when you’re more rushed 👍 Also, I love how you mentioned properly preparing grains for optimal absorption 👏

Try Ina Garten's roast chicken. 425 for about 90 minutes. Delicious crispy skin! I bet Matt and the kids will love it ☺️☺️☺️

I really love this video! ❤ I live in France where instant pots are not a thing at all, but I've been eyeing those for a while, not sure if I would have a use for it. I'm due with my 2d kid in April, and I finally just bought myself one, thanks to your bone broth video, which is amazing to eat postpartum. I hope I'll use it as much as you do! Thank you 🥰

What culture do you use for your yogurt(I couldn’t find a link)? You mentioned Cultures For Health and that it was an heirloom culture but I couldn’t figure out which one to buy when I went on their website.

Yes! I cook all these things in my IP except rice. I have cooking Basmati rice down on the stove top but I have been intimated about brown rice. I'm excited to try your tips in cooking it in the IP! Have you ever cooked with dried beans in the IP? I have been wanting to try & experiment. I especially prefer soaking beans to help with the phytic acid. Thank you for the great video!

Yes def give rice a try in there - it always comes out perfect for me everytime! And I totally forgot about beans!! I have done them in the instant pot, would be totally easy to soak them in there first overnight then turn it on in the morning. I honestly rarely cook with beans and I'm not even sure why lol but have switched over to buying them dry (mostly), and the IP is what I use when I do need to cook them!

Do you use whole milk for the yogurt recipe? And do you add any flavorings like vanilla after it’s done? I love to use my IP to cook dried beans! Would love to see videos on parenting and mom life! 😊

Yes whole milk! And you totally can add vanilla and maple syrup would be so good too! I just make it plain, but then add toppings/sweeteners if we want as we go!

I use the same oats that you do that I purchase at Costco. Since they are already sprouted, why do you still soak them overnight? And, if you soak overnight, then how come you use the same soaking water, instead of fresh water to make your oatmeal. I'm asking, because when I make my own almond milk, I also soak them overnight, but have to strain the water out and rinse until water is clear before using the almonds. This really confuses me.
@BeccaBristow

It's so funny you say that because they are indeed sprouted and I just totally forgot that they were LOL that's mom brain for you! So really no need to soak, they are ready to go!

Surprise. Did you know if you’re using pasteurized milk you can add cold milk and your yogurt to your instant pot and go straight to the yogurt setting (I do 8 hours). That’s it. My yogurt turns out even better than if I boil and cool it first. Now that’s a huge TIME AND MONEY SAVER!
