From Notse they now going from 1 place to another, building ewe villages and town till Volta region. And Notse been all the EWE's capital, that is why at any AGBOGBOZA FESTIVAL, all the Ewe kings from Ghana, Togo go to Notse...

@Allah_Loves_Forgives_and_SavesThey do, they're just lost to time. Actually there is no word as Yoruba. It has no meaning in the Yoruba language because it's a name that was given to us by foreigners. Mostly the Batonu people. Our original name is lost to time and some of our words as well. That's why the Yoruba word for onions today is in Hausa.
@abinibihub
@abinibihub 9 ай бұрын
@emmanuelogundipe3328 there is something called borrowed words. We have shared some words with hausa people but not ur name. Yoruba is wiser than accepting what’s not their name and i fact they fought before the name was accepted.

As a proud granddaughter of the Alaketu of Ketu Epe land, I cherish memories of exploring my grandfather's archives, discovering documents that revealed our people's presence in Benin, Brazil, and beyond. Our rich heritage spans the globe, fascinating me with its widespread reach.My frequent travels to Ghana allowed me to admire the Alaketu of Ketu palace in Benin, sparking a desire to connect with my cousins within those walls. I dream of returning with my children, introducing them to our lineage,and reuniting with my extended family. Brazil, with its Ketu ties, has become a destination on my bucket list, further solidifying my connection to our transnational legacy.

Olukumi is a language that has its root in yoruba dialects (Owo, Ondo state specifically) which means, "My friend". There is a group in Aniocha north in Delta whose language is 'olukumi.' This group of people believe that they migrated from around Owo. Upon enquiry I realized that most of their words have the same meaning with people. E.g, Olukumi ( my friend) ; umale (shrine),, ipekere (plantain chips) etc. This is the best can go for now. I am not a historian though,you may make more researches on this. Thanks for the good works

Thank you brother for this history and connecting us back to our people. Surely, we need to bring our Yoruba People back home regardless whether they want to retain their adopted countries or the countries they find themselves. We have to make a case for this integration now. Our people should be brought back to their lineages in Yorubaland. We need to rewrite the dark history. The children of our ancestors should be brought back home from the Americas, the Carribbean, Africa and any part of the world they may find themselves. If there is any of people that does not want to come back we should confer Yoruba nationality on them unless they do not want the nationality I understand that some people would argue that Yorubaland in Nigeria is not stable at the moment to accommodate our ancestors coming back to the land. Yes, this might sound true but as people we have to lay foundation to achieve this home coming of our people because the dark history must be defeated and rewritten. Please, we do not have to wait to achieve Yoruba nation before we do this.

As regards the Yoruba language in Brazil, I can tell you for free that Yoruba is used in the Candomblé religion for prayers and offerings but not as an official language nor used in the classrooms. The Ooni of Ife and other stakeholders indeed made the move to make it an official language...truth be told, that's on paper but it's yet to be practical or a reality.
