I can name a few that truly enraged me. - The Elder Scrolls: Arena (after getting at least one piece of the Staff of Chaos) Jagar Tharn, the game's antagonist, basically sees you off. By telling you what a fool you were to oppose him and that you'll become his loyal undead servant with memories of your failure to defeat him. - Death Duel The game outright calls you a coward and a traitor, saying that your rotting flesh will be a mark of your family's disgrace. Was honestly one of the only times I destroyed a game cartridge because of a game over screen. - Bugdom If you quit or die one too many times, you see a cutscene of your player character in the jail cage while the termite villains celebrate their victory over you.

Death Duel's Game over screen just sent you over a cliff in anger. I can understand that . . . Dark Souls was when I realized what type of gamer I was. After the 45th time dying near the start of it I was like, "Rage over the amount of times I've died in it. But still try to beat the game anyways. Possibly going bald in the process, Or just realize that this game ain't for you, even though you do like the challenge."

Oh okay. I've heard of that easter egg before in Dark Souls. I think my game is broken though because I can't seem to access that screen. People told me that i would see that screen all time but i haven't. I don't know if I'm playing the game correctly. Do I need a cheat code or a Game Shark or something to see it? 😂I'm full of it. I've seen that screen plenty of times LOL. Hell I lived on that screen at some points. The worst Soulsbourne Die Twice boss I've kept dying to over and over the most was Ludwig the Accursed. It took me FOREVER to finally learn his patterns. I beat him eventually.

The Sonic water levels are the gaming Hindenburg of my childhood. Ironic that i would use an explosive disaster as a metaphor for drowning in that moist maze of melancholy misery, but i was only a young lad, and the challenge swiftly brought my attempts to finish the game to an explosive and spectacular end. Shortly after that it was a brief but brutal follow-up beating by Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, and ever since its been a long 20-something years of loving games but just being absolutely garbage at them.

I think there's a huge missed opportunity on this list for arcade games. Specifically Final Fight Ninja Gaiden and The Punisher. Nothing pisses you off like watching your character in a death scenario cuz you weren't good enough and not having the coins to save them. :(
