@@nerdygeezer78 I'm glad you said that Lee as was sure he had a cartoon at one point but thought I might have imagined that part😄 It's weird as I have zero interest in the 360 now, but it had so much going for it I have to rate it fairly. As far as consoles go probably the one that truly had me addicted to it(I didn't include micro's in that of course as they aren't consoles, otherwise Speccy would've had the top spot). Cheers for the feedback on the mic👍

@Tetlee2 ай бұрын
Cheers James, I took that for the wording with console, had it included computers it would've had to be the Speccy. While I've no interest in the 360 now, I can't deny it's greatness with the online integration, generational leap to HD, Xbox Live Arcade, Xbox Live Indie Games etc, not to mention brilliant exclusives and the perfect dash with the blades system. You've never seen Tron?!?! I'm amazed to hear that buddy, wow! Without nostalgia I'm guessing could look a bit dated, but I still get that feeling of awe with it as I did back in the day and it's a brilliant story. Such a great chill out film, I never tire of it. The VHS is the way to go for it definitely (although I also have it on bluray along with the later sequel which was actually pretty damn good aswell)

@@ewstargamer yeah cheers Alex. Was tough for me to say 360 as I have zero interest in it now, but overall it was an incredible console for so many reasons. Enjoyed this. I finally played Super Mario Wonder over the weekend, been on my list for ages cos everyone says it’s incredible, but three levels in and I was bored stiff - bizarre. As you said, Mario World on Snes just sucked days out of your life. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s me that must have changed, on paper the new games should blow all the old games away, but they just don’t. I feel the same about Mario Odyssey, barely played it for two hours, Mario 64? Probably 100 hours. Maybe it’s age related, who knows 🤷 chaos though, what a game! Isn’t it 16k 😆
@Tetlee2 ай бұрын
@@retrobloke hey Jace, thanks for watching mate. I really should give Wonder a go, I did enjoy Odyssey but nothing will ever match Super Mario World I feel. Probably didn't help that we were the golden generation that witnessed everything for the first time, where as by now it's difficult for a new game to just blow you out the water as we've seen and played so much! Just my thoughts, obviously can't speak for everyone and no doubt plenty of age still get that buzz with new games but I suspect allot of us old farts feel that way. Chaos will never be knocked off my top spot, too much happy memories and it still stands up today as our brilliance, everything you could ever need for the perfect multiplayer game. Hope you're well buddy(also how you noticed the mug I was rocking😉)👍
@retrobloke2 ай бұрын
@@Tetlee oh yes, of course I glowed when I saw the mug! I agree, nothing new blows me away any more games wise, but retro titles I’ve never seen before still can. If you love Chaos, I wonder if you ever played Lothorien Overlord? It is an incredible two player speccy strategy game where you both move your pieces at the same time. The concept is so simple but has never been properly exploited since which I’m amazed by. In two player mode the joystick responsiveness is a bit glitchy but that just adds to the frustration and fun as you rush to get your knights and kings in the right places.

Good old answers there. I'll give you an extended answer to what I don't like about video games........Currently we have large development teams with state of the art equipment releasing games to the public which haven't been properly play tested or debugged that then need a constant stream of update patches to keep them functional. It seems to be a mixture of laziness and corporate greed on behalf of the developers. One from back in the day that used to piss me off was when the software industry blamed kids copying tapes for the high price of software and the imminent death of the industry-then along came the NES, SNES, Master System, MegaDrive etc which were all cartridge based and pretty much impossible to copy.....And they put the prices up massively!!!!
@Tetlee2 ай бұрын
Cheers Allan, yeah I know exactly what you're saying there. TBH I rarely pick up new games these days and by the time I do they've usually been through all the bug fixes and what have you. As for pricing, yes it's easy to forget how prices leapt up from the cassette tape era.
