I buy UFD Curly Magic by the giant container from the company directly. It’s my #1, and I only do wash & gos. BUT - just started using the Mane Choice Tropical Moringa gel & it’s now pushing up against UFD, for real! I have that Soultanicals gel but have never used it - thanks for the reminder!

Uncle Funky's daughter is my favorite and then Kinky Curly. I really do need to use the Knot Today to make sure I get excellent results. I can use many different leave ins with the Uncle Funky's daughter. I don't understand because the ingredients are almost the same. Thank you. Great review.

Love Kinky Curly. And it pairs great with CR Coconut Water Leave In and style setter also. I find Kinky Curly gives great movement and doesn’t stay hard past the first day for me but still holds.

I love the Kinky Curly Curling Custard. It is my go to! I also love the CM curl maker. I don't use it as a wng. It doesn't have enough hold for me. I like using it on twists though.

This is so helpful. I’ve been wanting to try UFD and I’m about to try Camille Rose’s curl maker. I love the alikay products you mentioned too! I get the best wash and go with those. I’ve only used them with their leave in so I’m intrigued to see how it works alone.

I love the kccc! I've had the oyin hair dew under it all week and it actually worked! Moisturized, no flaking, and got compliments of my curls. Plus, my scalp normally would have started to itch by now but nothing ❤. Of course UFD tied for number 1 with it. I love the CR style setter for a cream wash n go. Can work alone or with a leave in. On my list to try is MC braid out glaze(still supporting even though she is no longer the owner), hydratherma aloe curl enhancing cream, NLS Irish moss cream, and Uniqurl custard. Great series! Hope we can see one for butters/moisturizers, pre poo, or other miscellaneous categories. Even if not, loved every bit of this 😊

UFD is the G.O.A.T! I’ve only been doing wash and goes for about a year and this is the only gel that gives me consistent results every time! I try other gels and use the same technique and leave in, but sometimes get different results. I wish I could use one of the stronger hold gels, but despite using my most reliable leave ins, they all dry out my fine strands. I’m bummed.

Obia naturals custard is GOAT! Soultanicals gel is a no go for me it smells great, but flakes, leave my hair dry and I hate they way it rinses out. Koils by natures kurl kreme is pretty nice got a nice first impression. Not a gel person but I’m trying to get into more custards. Might try uniqurl custard and other Soultanicals custards. TFS!

Camille Rose Lavender gel is a staple. It gives me hold but also moisture for a week and beyond . It also never flakes on me . Just don’t use to much because like the Camille Rose Curl Maker it is a bit sticky.

Adwoa Beauty Gel is my HG hands down. The Curling Cream isn't as heavy as I would like but I do have a few jars so will see if perhaps the hot summer months makes a difference. UFD Curly Magic is another gel that I keep in my stash (I also have the liter bottle). A new gel i recently tried is the Ecoslay Orange Marmalade. I got a great wash-n-go but this cream gel seems to be a little finicky with leave-ins so I will have to play around with it a bit.

Oh, need to adda side note, got my Kazmaleje brush; luvvvv it, even ordered one of there tees😊. Your recommendations are always on point 🙌🏾👍🏽. So far I have tried and stuck with Oyin, Camille Rose and just purchased TreLux. Although it has coconut milk in the shampoo (hair does not do well with anything coconut!), I'm gonna give it a try anyway. Also about to try your suggestion of Neen oil for my house plants, I have a prayer plant & rattlesnake in my bedroom and was wondering how to get rid of the bugs and not harm them. I am really enjoying this series! Thank you so much!! I just tried a wash and go using Kinky Curly leave in and curling custard. This combo flaked on me!! Perhaps it was user error, or the fact that the product seemed to just sit on my low porosity strands...in either case, it did not work well for me.

For KCC...you must use on soaking wet hair...give it a few more tries...its worth it.

It will attract moisture in the air to your hair. In dryer heat and colder weather (moderate temperature and dew point) you may want that. In humid weather, it can leave your hair wet after it’s dry, possibly frizzy or it can ruin your style all together depending on your hair characteristics. If you’re in a dry heat climate (Vegas), you may want to caution humectants also because the air can pull moisture from the hair into the air.

Ok hair! Which leave in (if any) did you use with the Obia Custard? Curls poppin’ poppin’ fuh real 👌🏽 Edited to add: I really like the KKCC as well. It’s the only gel styler I use for wash and go’s. I get shiny, defined, albeit slightly crunchy hair. Although, I just have to run my fingers along the hair strand and it softens right up while maintaining it’s hold ! Love it.

I agree with a tutorial or demo. I've tried using the soultanicals gel by itself and with a moisturizer and the flakes were out of control. Luckily, I sampled it on one small section of hair before committing my whole head. But, I still had to rewash that section.
