I love hearing personal stories for plants and the subsequent learning of the plant's preferences. It makes watching informative videos that much more interesting :D

@@GardeningatDouentza I'm sorry to hear about your weather. It hasn't been to bad over here, just some intermittent showers and sunny spells. But nice temperatures. Hope your weather improves! Meanwhile, i wouldn't mind some more greenhouse... ;)

I’m from the mid north coast of NSW Australia … we grow all these outdoors and they are quite common to see growing here in tropical weather we get all year round !its so amazing to see how all our countries have different ways of caring for them 🌴🌱🍁🌾☘️🌻

Thank you for this beautifully informative video, Rachel. There are some here that I see in sub-tropical Australian gardens as I pass by, but they are not as healthy as yours! So well done Lady Greenfingers!

I have the plain white Angels’ Trumpet. 30years ago when I got a greenhouse for the first time the daughter of husband’s coworker sent me some stems which I grew into a plant. Sadly we needed to move almost immediately and the new house had no greenhouse. I told this plant I would keep it alive until I got another greenhouse which took over 30 years but I still have it and it just bloomed again💚 Oh yeah, at some point a local plant store sold small specimens of it and some “geniuses” from the local HS spread the word that the plant was a hallucinogen and the local hospital had a giant influx of teens who were poisoned by it until the source was deduced and the store yanked it. Nothing to play around with!!

That's a terrible story about those young people poisoning themselves. I hope they were okay. Thanks for sharing and I bet your plant is a scented vision when in bloom.

Yes as far as I know everybody survived and hopefully were the wiser. Yes! When it flowers the fragrance is amazing, just I need to go downstairs and outside at night to enjoy it. 👃🏼

I had a brugmansia with huge pink trumpet flowers. I kept smelling them one summers evening & fell asleep next to the plant & had crazy dreams! It wasn't till I looked it up & saw the shamens sleep under them for that purpose as well as smoking the leaves for the hallucinations tho they can be terrifying I believe. Not a plant to be trifled with even if they are beautiful! Fascinating video tho thanks very much

A mention of PawPaw? 😁 Hardly known outside the US I think, the fruits are quite delicious but one that will never be available in a store, they have to be picked ripe (or they never ripen) and eaten within two days. It is one that would be hardy and capable of fruiting in your climate, maybe you need to get some seed 🤔 . The Brug is looking fantastic. One of those plants that really benefits from being chopped back hard. Which reminds me, I've got to go deal with that shrub rose of mine. So leggy looking, need to cut it back by half to bring back the vigor. The yard waste people are going to love picking up that thorny pile 😬 .

Hey, I remember the pawpaw fruit from Disney's the Jungle Book :D No, I don't think assimia is known over here. It doesn't seem a very ornamental tree from google 🤔 Yeah, next time I will cut the brug back more. I was too hesitant this time but now I know it can take it. Just in from potting on some big plants. I can see myself slicing off roots next year as there won't be any bigger pots! Thanks for watching, Michael.
