Signed up. Antonio you have the style and project such a great image. If I’m ever unsure whether my shirts have been washed I ask my daughters for their opinion. If they can smell my cologne the shirt needs a wash!!!! I do love my colognes and am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I only wear Ray-ban sunglasses now, and stick to the classics, except the ‘new warfarers’ which I love! My husband has a few versions of Rayban aviators and clubmasters and I love them. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone that looks terrible in aviators either, they really are universally flattering on most people. They last forever (if you clean them regularly and always use their case) and they never go out of style. I also like that you can get them repaired. On the rare few cases I’ve stepped on them, I’ve never had issues getting an arm repaired, a respray or the lenses replaced, so it’s worth spending the extra money. I used to buy cheapies when I was young and careless, but I think it’s worth spending the extra to get quality, now that I’m older. Some of my sunglasses are over six years old and I just take them to the store for a clean and they come up brand new. Also in Australia polarized is a non-negotiable, unless you want to go blind 😂. And yes, no dirty smudged glasses, keep them clean and shiney, they are where your eyes are after all. That’s where people will be looking when they see you, so they’ll notice. Gradient and polarized are nice, but I have to say, mirrored are a no for me. If you want to scare people away then mirrors are great 😂. Some people like the ‘stay away’ or ‘I’m creepy’ look so all the power to them I guess I’m glad you mentioned frame size and lens shape, I see a lot of people with sunglasses on that are too small for their face. I think it’s better to go bigger if one is unsure, rather than smaller.

…good intro to the realm of sunglasses. A few details on fit can be referred on the arm like {66-15 125} : lens’ width - gap between lenses- temple arm length. Consider the angle of curvature for best fit. And never have I lost or damaged a pair. I still enjoy the first one I bought a Persol Ratti when I was 17 in 1986. I have accumulated 432 pairs ever since, brands like Persol, ic Berlin, Alain Mikli, are worth it, with proper care it will last a lifetime.

Hey Captain, As you know military aviators are issued Randolph sunglasses. As our eyes change we get prescription glasses in the same frames. So over the years, I collected frames as my prescription changed. At one point I was giving frames to friends and family and they would get their own lenses. Anyway, I now have a pair of Randolph Aviators in my wife's car, a pair of Revo Aviators in my car, and Ray-Ban Aviators as a spare.

I was shoe shining my white leather sneakers. I wanted a mirror finish, so I used items such as Saphir Mirror Shine to ensure maximum shine on the shoe. To assess the shininess of the shoe while shining it, I had the idea of using my phone's light. Later on, I noticed that the shoe was starting to turn yellow. I thought it was the shine working, but I doubted that. I looked up why my shoe turned yellow and it turns out that the heat from the light caused the oxidation of the leather. The shoe is ruined and it'll take another $250 to get another. Do not make the mistake of exposing your leather sneakers (especially white) to direct light or heat

Thought I had lost one of my favorite pair of Typhoon angler's sunglasses. Had no idea where. About 2 or 3 weeks go by and I drove the minivan through the car wash and when it went through the dryer cycle they blew down onto the windshield wipers, 😆. Apparently I set them on the roof and they slid back and were stuck in the luggage rack and I never saw them. Amazingly there was no damage to the sunglasses, not one scratch on the lenses and I still use them today 😎

I bought a pair of Revos in the mid 90s for $375, which was a heck of a lot of money back then. This was when Revos were still handmade, and considered high-end. Anyway, I later took one of those winter camping NOLs courses, and didn't want to buy $100 mountaineering glasses since I didn't think I would get much use from them after my trip. So I took my super expensive Revos. Long story short, they got damaged by the rough outdoor adventure, so I winded up wearing them duct taped for most of the course. Moral of the story is, wear sunglasses designed for whatever it is you are doing. It will save you money in the long run.

Ray Ban is terrific! As a military aviator/pilot, I have worn them for decades. I did destroy my Sunglasses back in 2017. I was out with my girl and her friend we walked through the forest and there was one broken fallen tree and her friend talked about the one time she slipped and fell down of a tree. Naturally, I said: "how come? I will show you how it's done" so I went up on that tree and walked up quite high but it didn't feel right so I started to jump up and down and on the third jump I just felt how the tree moves down, my mind goes blank and the time is frozen next thing I know is I lie on the ground and my sunglasses are gone. I go for a search take one step back and hear a crack...

Lens wipes. 5 dollars for a box of 100. A good pair of lenses will last for many years more if you NEVER wipe your glasses on your shirt, handkerchief or with a paper towel or tissues. (Micro cloth picks up dust and becomes micro-sandpaper. Replace it often.) Keep lens wipes in your house, car, desk, pocket and gym bag. Best way to maintain your glasses and quality sunglasses. Protect that investment. Zeiss is the best brand I’ve found.

One with clear lenses, amd one with blue-green tint. I got excruciatingly inhebriated at the e-club and left them at the bar. I've never felt worse, both because of the shades and the copious amounts of $4 pitcher of domestic happy hour beer. rah

I’ve got a great story about my sunglasses: So I’ve got 7 sunglasses and all of them are different of course... however... I’ve been on vacation with some buddy’s of mine, when I graduated my junior year... so we went to Austria, since I had lived there most of my live, before I moved to the USA... I only took one pair of shades with me, which where super light aviators from Dior (which does not really mater ), however... we went hiking in the Kapartenvorland (which one could call the little mountains that come right before the high parts of the alps ) after several hours, we made it to the restaurant that I had picked... which has been there for over 100 years. (There is a picture of my grandmother standing in front of the building as a child in my picture collection.) but when we came out of the restaurant again, it was starting to get dark and I put my sunglasses on the top of my head, since I was a messy hair type of guy back then, and did not have any sticky products in it. So at some point, I saw a little snake, that I knew was not venomous... so I wanted to scare my friends by wanting to pick it up and putting it on their shoulder from behind... so, I bend over, forgetting about the sunglasses, and then the fall lense first to the floor... I corset about the snake, pick them up and put them on... and my left lense was completely gone (1000 peace’s on the flor ) and the right one had many scratches :( But since Dior has a great customer service and product care line, thy replaced the lenses for only 250$

I flew over to California from Northern Ireland 8 years ago and for the trip I bought myself prescription sunglasses. First few days everything was great, swapping between my regular glasses and the shades. Until my girlfriend and I went to Universal Studios. We went on a ride; The Mummy, I think; and the first part of the ride was a few seconds of speeding backwards and then we were flung forwards. The shades were tucked into the front of my shirt and when we were flung forwards I heard a loud crunch as I was pressed up against the seat in front due to the momentum. Both lenses and the nose bridge were in pieces. I didn't enjoy the rest of the ride.

Years ago I saw a friend with a pair of folding Raybans (the kind that end up the size of one lens). I thought they were awesome, and really wanted a pair. Years later, another friend had a pair that he was wanting to get rid of and knew that I wanted them, so he sold them to me for $50. I wore them to the beach a couple years ago, and a huge wave pulled them off my face and into the ocean. Don't wear your good shades near the ocean lol.

So for the story... I've put my sunglasses on my shirt, just like you did in the hardware store, forgot about them and sat on my motorcycle. As I was driving at one moment I felt something scratching my neck then I realized that it was my sunglasses - they flew away. Although I've stopped quite fast I couldn't find them anywhere on the road I was driving nor by the side of it. I was quite frustrated because they were my first Ray-Ban sunglasses that I've bought with money I've earned. That's a lesson learned the hard way.

If you want to look good, your eyebrows must still be visible above the glasses. So it's also about placement, find the glasses that have the same width with your face and place them a bit lower on the nose, till you can see some eyebrows, otherwise, your expressivity will be replaced by the shape of your glasses. You must try this with all of your 🕶️ and you'll see for yourself

Do prescription sunglasses follow traditional style rules?
@begformeowcy3 жыл бұрын
Yes, because the only difference is the lens. Visually impaired people can still look awesome ❤️. But it does get harder to follow the style rules if they have a script that requires highly specialized lenses with a very high myopia or very high stigmatism. As lenses get thicker, the styles you can choose from become more limited (lens thinning helps but is $$$). I am limited for styles with my script, and wear ray-bans because they take my script for both my glasses and sunglasses. My friend has a coke bottle script and wears ray-ban sunglasses and plastic frame glasses, but not their wire frames. My ray-ban glasses and sunglasses are prescription and I have them in aviator and new wayfarer styles, my husband wears prescription ray-bans as well. The good thing with sunnies (especially the new wayfarers) is that I can get away with thicker lenses (moderate myopia, high astigmatism). I wear them with ray-ban brand prescription lenses - ray-ban rx, but you can get them fitted with normal prescription sunglass lenses too. Ray-ban have a line of polarized prescription lenses too. If you have a high script and wear a thick lenses (or don’t have the $ for thinning) you can get away with a thicker lens, by going with a black frame and black prescription lens (with the lens sides polished), that way if the lens is thicker than the frame, it won’t look weird or look noticeable from the side, as it will all be one colour. That’s my prescription sunglasses trick 😊.
@blisterbill84773 жыл бұрын
Wayfarer is easy to fit most prescriptions. Be sure to get a darker tint and nobody else will know they are prescription but you. If you drive a lot or fish/ boat/ beach/ water sport, get polarized lenses.

@@paulmcgreevy3011 it’s true these aren’t the most affordable brands for everyone, but there are a lot of less expensive brands that do their own versions of the aviator, clubmaster and wayfarer styles. So it doesn’t have to be branded as such, it’s more about the shape and silhouette of the glasses. I’ve seen aviator and wayfarer styles in more inexpensive brands for $30 and less. So I think just pay attention to the style, more than the brand and you can still look great 😊. I hope this helps. Now you’re familiar with the styles you’ll see just how many places do their own spins on them.

Antonio's sun glasses story is why I buy cheap sunglasses. I absolutely destroy them. They are my Achilles heel. So I buy sun glasses in the $1 to $10 range.
