That laugh during the cast rating had me dying! 😂

Yeah but I was getting a bit worried for the guy standing too close to the edge of the water.. sleeper waves are no joke and most experienced coast fisherman know to always have respect for the ocean or at least I do and because of that never go on the rocks when I do solo trips and most fisherman tend to do solo trips ALOT😅 But glad to see Matts was able to have friends who were open to go fishing, tough to find at times.

Love watching this channel. Brings back memories. As a 14 year old in San Mateo, I'd ride my bike to coyote point, foster city, redwood city, oyster point, hunters point, the SF marina, Pillar Point, the half moon bay beaches, San Gregorio, cliff house area. Went to college. Took a great fishery class at San Jose state under Dr. Jerry Smith. After awhile, I worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. It's been 52 years, and I still love to fish. Resources are constantly under one threat or another. Sadly, big brother has a lot to understand about fisheries. This channel promotes and educates the public. I had hoped to make this year's street fair. I will next year

i trolled white rooster tails for many years in lakes. Yeah i dont think its a common thing but it sure caught a lot of fish. Every species in a lake will bite it, caught even catfish a few times. My go to troll rig is a string of little flashers with a 18" leader, half worm threaded onto the hook so its straight. Also instead of real worm, berkley power worm and put one of those Spin-N-Glo beads in front of the fake worm. matching orange color was my favorite. Look at the first video ever posted on my channel. Great to finally make it to the fair, good seeing you and always a good day when a new video is posted!

That’s so cool you took all those guys rockfishing from the rocks. Love that kind of fishing, it’s such an adventure. And of course, love the trout fishing. That’s so cool with the weight thing. I need one of those. My kids and I were really bummed that we missed the street fair this year. Looks like good time. Hope to make it next year!

Man it's like taking kids fishing! You're a patient man, but I know its extremely fulfilling to get others on fish.
@heruhcanedean6 ай бұрын
Helping someone older catch their first fish I feel is more rewarding. I've helped so many people from work catch their 1st fish. Even if it's a catfish they are so happy. But I hook-set for kids and pass the pole. If you're over 10 years old you're on your own until you get it close enough for me to grab line. I went camping with my buddy I've known from highschool at the start of this month. We made teams, his son and me vs him and his dad. We out-fished them. I taught his son how to gut a trout the fast way, he ended up volunteering to gut all the trout for the weekend.

Old Oregon trout fisher.. try either a Ford Fender or Willow Leaf flashers, 18" leader with a worm on it. But not a hangy worm like for catfish.. thread it on, slight push up past the hook hook to hold the worm on, compress the worm onto the hook before barely setting the point into it to hold it into place, plus I usually pinch it off with barely half inch left at end. Trout can not only be line shy, but bait size shy and hook shy, to a degree and trolling less an issue. Sometimes you'll catch more on an #8 hook than a bigger #6 hook most people use. I like using slip weights on non mossy bottoms and especially a #18 hook with slip weight in a stationary location & small lake where fish troll the edges.. the #18 doesn't get spit out and is nearly always down their throat, than hooked in their mouth. Great channel and feel like I'm out fishing with you! ;) Last thing, and I know Rooster Tails finally got some good yellow/orange colors, but most Rooster Tails, I've almost never caught a trout on. LOL Waste of time. ;)
