I think there's something worth mentioning here. "Ballena Asesina" in spanish literally means "Murderer Whale" (or "Killer Whale"). Whereas the english term "Whale Killer" would be translated into spanish as "Asesina de Ballenas" (literally "Killer of Whales") or "Mata-Ballenas" (literally: "Whale Slayer/Killer"). I hope this helps somehow.

Favorite fact: the leaflets distributed in Japan. Why is this detail left out of our history so often?
@MyGeezer15 жыл бұрын
Because most people commenting on the bombings are apologists and mentioning the leaflets does't meet their narrative.
@ATTJ76285 жыл бұрын
The history makes more sense with the leaflets, it's basically the US showing off the Nuke's power on a major city that should have been abandoned and killed not as many people.
@StrangerHappened5 жыл бұрын
Many people were not literate and even when they were, they had years of all kinds of fear-mongering leaflets dropping on them, and they had no reason to believe that the USA had a bomb this powerful. The government of Japan had no means to evacuate 35 cities, it was completely impossible, especially since no concrete dates and times were declared beforehand. *So the whole leaflet thing was just an excuse, and this is why it is not included in history books.* What should be included in the history books is the fact that the nuclear bombings had nothing to do with winning over Japan, as declassified documents show. The Japanese government has already agreed to capitulate and it was not carried out by the time of the bombings only due to formalities. The whole reason Truman needed those bombings was to threat the USSR, it was a bloody show for Stalin.

***** There are a few different things that can give you kidney stones. To my knowledge people who have high sodium diets and tend not to get enough calcium get them more often. But not all kidney stones are caused by the same issues. I imagine your doctors are aware of this and if that is in preventing it, there's probably more to it. Here is the website by the National Kidney Foundation that might be able to give you some pointers on things you might want to try changing. www.kidney.org/atoz/content/kidneystones_prevent If it's really bothering you, maybe try changing around your diet a bit. My favorite fact by far is the "Rap Battle" fact. It's hilarious thinking about every culture I've learned in history class over the years having a rap battle. I also like to think of cultural icons like Abraham Lincoln having rap battles using old English, and winning.
@mainecolbs10 жыл бұрын
I've always found that funny as well. Really nearly every culture. It's pretty interesting to think about. Also Lincoln didn't speak "olde english" That's like some 10th century shit. Middle English coinciding with the Middle ages, Chaucer, Wycliffe etc. Shakespeare wrote in early modern english. 18th century onwards is all modern english. Sure our vocabulary has changed, but the "type" of english is actually based on pronunciation, the characters and glyphs used, tense, among other things. Olde English and Middle english are nearly unreadable and are for all intents and purposes, another language entirely. That's why we can read Shakespeare without too much trouble, but reading the original Canterbury Tales is quite a different task. Go look some of this up, it's really quite interesting!
@urbfilms10 жыл бұрын
mainecolbs Oops, you're absolutely right! Well, that's what I get for not researching information before writing a comment! However, the comment you replied with is really interesting! @Ericules555 blue whales are bigger than any dino ever was
@mattiassvanberg91615 жыл бұрын
@Ericules555 the blue whale can get over 100 ft, and can weigh 200 ton or more. really big blue whales aren't that common today due to hunting. for a blue whale to get to this length and weight they must first and foremost live for about 80 years or more, but really big ones are spotted even today. it's how you define big. I would say blue whales are bigger because they weigh more and in my eyes are simply more gigantic than argentinosaurus.
@mattiassvanberg91615 жыл бұрын
@Ericules555 the Wikipedia page for example call the blue whale the biggest animal to have ever lived, and most sources do as well call them that.
@mattiassvanberg91615 жыл бұрын
@Ericules555 I don't know about the weight of argentinosaurus. I tried to find info on that but they're very unclear about their weight. Someone said as little as 50 tons, but the average seems to be about 100 ton. And that is much less than the heaviest recorded blue whale. But when it comes to dinosaurs it's not that easy to measure if you don't have all the right bones. If you take a quick google on it you will see that they estimate argentinosaurus average weight to be from as little as 50 tom to 150 ton or more. I'm sure they were taller, though, but there are no proof they could weigh as much as an blue whale. Pretty much every source I checked call the blue whale the biggest, or heaviest, animal to inhabit the earth. And I mean in average. A big blue whale would weigh more than a big argentinosaurus anyday I think.

Yes, your skin “grows” to help grip under water. The growing increases the surface area of your hand allowing you to touch a larger surface area of a given object. Larger surface area makes for more frictional area, giving you better grip.
@ChristopherNips815 жыл бұрын
@@pommiebearsNot quite like tire tread. Tire treads are designed to push water outward from the tire allowing the remaining surface area to make solid contact with the road. As mentioned by Lord Sheerak XD, pruny fingers allow for greater surface area overall creating better grip.
