There's a contradiction between 1 & 7. What if "playing video games" is your hobby? I don't play them, but I disagree that "video games are a waste of time". If it's something you enjoy, do it. The problem only comes when you're not taking care of your health & finances. Otherwise playing video games for 3 hours a day won't kill you. There are people out there with all the money in the world & they're workaholics, but they have no relationships & they don't have fun. Life is about balance.

Some wrong conclusions here. Actually, time spent doing things you enjoy aren't totally wasted. Those tasks that seem so important and you think you should be doing instead may not be important.
@rydenseasalt97165 жыл бұрын
But I think the context here is the broad, long term consumption of time in activities that are purely leisure. Naturally, enjoyment is not a total waste, but the video is commenting people's regrets, and the most common regret is that they could've done more, not less.

Depends on what you’ll remember the most. What will you be able to look back on and smile? Are those job accomplishments and cars and big houses? Great! Or is it time spent with friends and family hanging out, having fun, and enjoying the little things? Great! In any case, there is no one “right” way to live a fulfilling life. You get to decide what is most important in YOUR life, nobody else.

@@unionunicorn6776 That's all well and true, but the people on their way out seem to regret the same handful of stuff. Although life is a blessing where you get to choose your own adventure, it's the same handful of things that are the regrets at the end. Because although we're all different, fundamentally we are all quite the same. We also assume what we know and value right now "is it", and it's not. We will change constantly. ....learn by doing... as you can never learn to ride a bicycle if you're always afraid of falling.... I've always learned in university that if you're unsure, just ask someone. The worst they can say is "no" or "I don't know" and if that's the case just ask someone else.... As well, always acknowledge your shortcomings and faults and always find different ways ways to improve upon these faults. Never be afraid to learn as life is one continuous journey of learning.

I went out of my comfort zone by sacrificing leisure time to make videos after my daily work. It isn’t easy & definitely risky because it takes a lot of time, but it’s part of my passion.

1. Time doesn't last forever - Do not procrastinate and do not take your time for granted 2. Change requires real effort - you need to commit and take initiative 3. Complaining is a waste - it never solves anything or fix anything or even motivate you rather it radiates negativity 4. Regretting the missed opportunities - younger and older people regret different things, when you are old you value the things you did not do much more 5. Your spontaneity is valuable - makes you a human being 6. You need to discover your niche - what's meaningful to you comes only from you 7. Choose passion before money - but you know this already right? You also know that money cannot buy happiness? 8. Skip the shortcuts - even smart work is hard work as you will have to work, do not think that you skip hard work 9. Health Habits is a long-term game or a life - long battle, you need to build healthy habits 10. Expect the unexpected and feel more life... I believe in adding value and right now writing useful comments is the only way I am doing it. I am trying to create a real 'community' in which you control everything, it is hard to join but worth it!

I enjoyed this piece. Having traveled my own path through life, sometimes you are punished for not being part of the herd. That being said , I wouldn't change my life. It's taken me places that I couldn't have dreamed. I didn't make a lot of money but I had my family and a job that I liked. I worked for people that had a lot of money and I think I was happier than them for what I had. If you don't fail you don't learn. It's picking your self up that makes you a success.

Man i could make a response video to this. On Change. Needing to try your best is important because once you really start trying your best for once, you’re in constant question of whether or not you really are “giving your best” and what constitutes that. In doing so however, you begin to build tolerance toward giving your best effort and there lies the most important realization: that “giving your best” is a skill set that one can grow, and more importantly one that is comparable. So when you start to feel down on yourself when you think you could’ve done better, do the healthy thing, and realize that no matter what, you’re giving yourself important practice at this skill set that someone else isn’t. This is true growth. So when you invest all you have and don’t make it this isn’t a net loss. You’ve grown and you’ve learned something. On complaining. This can be healthy, but left unchecked becomes very toxic. The key is to realize whether the sum of your complaints is vastly greater than the sum of positivity. Complaining however can lead to an interesting exercise in skepticism, which is a skill not taught in school (at any level) which is crucial to good judgement. If you complain of a few subjects but thinking of them in great detail, it’s not the same as being simply negative about all the micro-instances throughout your day. Regret. If you learn from your mistakes you will never regret a thing in your life as they all become necessary teaching experiences as you navigate life. But it does require you take more risks. To take risks and fail builds resilience and adds to “giving your all.” Spontaneity. We live in the day of the internet yall, pick up a hobby today. No one in my family plays an instrument or is artistic in any form. I’ve been playing guitar for 3 years now. That’s the easiest way to try new things. Being different. Do be different by being yourself, but don’t be different for the sake of being different. While being a “rebel” might be portrayed as going against the status quo, this is a very mainstream understanding of it. The real rebels among us are doing the right thing, being diligent, and studying their asses off. Why? Because even though it’s what you’re “supposed to do” the vast majority of us aren’t really doing it. I find that doing the right thing is often all it takes to separate yourself from “the norm.” Choosing Passion over Money. I agree, but let’s hold up for a second. The concept of passion is a real slippery slope. For most of us there is no “the” passion, but several “a” passions. Pursuing a passion doesn’t mean that every moment of your doing so is living this Rock Star lifestyle. I do think money can buy you happiness, but not without good judgement or direction. If you do nothing to cultivate your compass and ask what really makes you happy, then that money can never make you happy. If all you do is spend time wondering what makes you happy, you’ll never have the means to acquire or pursue what makes you happy either because you don’t have the money, or don’t have the resilience to do so. Do pursue something difficult, it’ll be a useful exercise in the end. Great points y’all!
