Yeah man when I started University I took my first formal guitar lessons ever, and even though I had already been playing for years beforehand and was already fairly adept in my playing, I was having a lot of struggle with the literal beginner noob class because my teacher only gave me sheet music and I wasn't allowed tabs. I felt like I was a 5 year old learning my alphabet but then would start playing Over The Hills and Far Away in between him finding the next lesson, and then struggle to play The Saints Go Marching In because I had to read the music. And he wouldn't let me just figure it out by knowing the tune and knowing my scale, I _had_ to sight read. Shit was hard 😂
