button helper: Carry a paper clip (preferably large). Hook the paper clip on the button and pull through the button hole. I found this to be life-saving when I was in a dressing room and could not leave without an embarrassing exposure!

Many of the chemicals used in fabric softeners can harm marine life, or even cause dead zones when it goes down the drain and into our waterways.

Andrea, there is a reason that Scuba suits have a long piece of material on the zipper that does up in the back (NEWER ones are showing up with the zipper in the front I have seen but that can be problematic.) As for the dress or jumpsuit, my GF had a GREAT idea, She uses a piece of ribbon that is close to or matches the color of the clothing and she uses a piece of ribbon and ties it to the zipper and then does it up and tucks it in the back of the item of clothing so that it is literally ON her all day and she can do herself UP or UNDO without any help and that ribbon has NEVER fallen off or out!!!

Another way to remove odors from your hands is the rub them against your stainless steel sink (or other stainless steel). It actually works and some companies even sell soap shaped stainless steel for that purpose.

There are bracelet buddies that are much easier, especially with dexterity issues. If you have a sensitivity to smells, use aquarium charcoal and put it in an open cup in your stinky closet. It absorbs a huge amount of stink. Even helped get rid of skunk in the house. If you want your house to smell good while vacuuming, a couple drops of essential oil on your hepa filter in your vacuum. If you don’t have a hepa vacuum, add some fabric scent beads into the vacuum bag. The air coming out will smell great.

I prefer to vacuum out the under belly of the dryer every 3-4 months as well as, clean out the vent trap area (after each load) with a 4 ft long spiral bristle brush with a flexible handle. I also replace my dryer vent hose and vacuum the back of the dryer once a year. I was advised to do this by an appliance repair person years ago. It's also a good practice to replace the washing machine hoses, once a year, when replacing the dryer vent hose. Maintenance is key with washers and dryers.

I have been doing the exact same thing with the spiral brush and vacuum. I only use vinegar as fabric softener. Makes the clothes soft, doesn't leave a smell. I unhook the hose that lead to the outside and suck out the lint that gets stuck in there.

We have an older rental home, so I may try the laundry detergent in the toilet tank to see if that heps to get it clean. Baby powder is unsafe to inhale, though, so I would avoid putting that on pillows. At least make sure that it is talc free if you are going to use it.

My favorites are the zipper/ bracelet helper hack, the closet deodorizer /garbage disposal deodorizer, the pony pic, for rubber gloves--adding cornstarch to avoid the stink, and a zippy bag to cover your cell phone while you're cooking or baking and your remote control. I've also heard it suggested taking a zippy bag to your hotel to cover the germy remote and protect you while traveling.

*I **_love_** the Downy Unstoppable Shea Blossom. It smells **_outstanding._* _Amazed_ by how _deliciously_ fragrant it made my laundry, I noticed the perforation in the pour cap ["blossom" 😉] , and figured that was intentional for utilization as a room/space deodorizer. It definitely works, just like that❣ Very cool idea for the drain, I would have never thought of that. I like to crush hardened 🍋 or lime peels in the disposal, which _beautifully_ deodorizes. {Seriously, is there anything that lemon _can't_ do?! 🤓} 🥰

I used the extended $Tree toilet bowl brush to loosen up/remove dryer lint and it worked until it fell out of the handle! So now while that waits for the crazy glue to dry I'll try that microfiber trick. I think I'll use a yardstick and then the rubber band won't be entering the slot. So much of what I stirred up was a finer dust I think my rag will need to at least be damp too. And I will do this on a day when we won't need to use the machine on off chance it is too damp...don't need to mix electricity with water at my house! Thanks for the inspiration! I didn't even think we needed to do any of these steps until I met you, AJ you little task master, you! But it is all good, less dust is always better!

Rubber gloves need to be washed and dried inside out. Take them off, turn them inside out, and wash them (wash the inside). Dishwasher liquid, hand wash, shampoo, whatever is handy. Leave them inside out to dry. It doesn't matter if the outside if the glove doesn't dry properly. You are only going to get that bit wet again, but the inside will be hygienic and dry.

That money pick is awesome. I don't Actually need them myself as my hair is so thick I keep the bottom half shaved and I still get it thinned out every 1 1/2-2 months or the Wait will cause me to have migraines. I hate pods & don't use them bc of the clear capsules that really doesn't ever dissolve all the way that they put the detergent in. I hadn't seen the baseboard buddy. I had been using the shark steam mop on mine but it doesn't lock & the part that holds water often falls off on me. I liked the rubber gloves that have a flocking lining and if I've been sweating really bad when I take him off and make sure they're inside out so they can air and dry

22:38 Actually that bag of instant oatmeal is NOT healthy at all. It contains lots of sugar and "natural flavoring," which is just another word for artificial flavoring, if you research it. Instead of instant oatmeal, I buy a large bag of organic sprouted pressed oats (from Costco) and cook it on my stove top. Some people top it off with fruits, nuts, raw honey, etc. However, I prefer it plain (may be with a pinch of salt)😋 Folks, DON'T be fooled by its packaging. But learn to read the NUTRITION FACTS as well as INGREDIENTS sections to know what you put in your body. You can live a healthier life🙂 Remember, "natural flavor" is same thing as "ARTIFICIAL flavor."

I just don't buy any clothing that is hard to get in and out of. I also no longer buy clothing that is dry clean only. I use a bar of Dove scented soap in each shoe that I wear more frequently. I also use it in my closets and drawers. I buy the bulk pack from Costco. I don't have time to hand wash cleaning microfiber towels! I pour a little liquid laundry detergent in the toilet tank. I use my broom with a downy sheet attached on my baseboards.

Wow who knew-- It's Brown Sugar for me. I'm not a microwave fan-- so I just heat my almond milk in a small pan and add it to the bowl of oatmeal. Really enjoyed the dryer tip and the garbage disposal/toilet pod ups! Fresh smells-- for all!😄

If you don't have a paper clip and need to use the safety pin, you could just wrap the head with the pokey closure with a bandaid. You got options!

I’ve enjoyed many of these hacks & have subscribed. I would like to see ideas that are more ecologically responsible though such as using essential oils with the baking soda.

Yes I realize it's not good for them Any nutrition is absolutely processed right out of it SO I use real oatmeal and put a little of that packet oatmeal in it and then I cut up apples and I put in raisins and they have no idea that it's not all instant oatmeal Eventually add some cinnamon or vanilla also and get rid of instant oatmeal altogether😮😅

baby powder is great for gloves, but if you are an asthmatic, dont put it on your sheets. Just getting into bed can cause a small powder puff u do not see, but your lungs do. Most people not a problem though ;)

@@maryharding4971 I have overhanging skin that will stick, and tear if I try to move it or get up or get dressed. I use a surgical mask to protect my asthma from the powder. But without it I get sores, so have no choice. ;) and that sounds like a nice smelling powder ;)

Easy way to remove tarnish from jewelry - get one of those cheap aluminum baking pans. Lay jewelry (no stones) on bottom of aluminum pan, cover with baking soda then pour very hot water. Let set 15 min.
